If you're feeling down, pet your dog.
If it isn't making you feel better - you haven't petted them long enough. Keep going. It will work every time.
I believe it works almost as well with cats.![]()
- well except the part about cats. My cat decided my plant needed moved...out of the window...onto the floor...with the pot broken in several pieces.
Have I mentioned my cat is an asshole? :caning:
That's why cats are the best! They have a sense of humor!
Your cat is on to you... Your cat knows you think they're an asshole and next it'll be dead rats on the bed, look out!![]()
That asshole puts a dead rat on my bed and it is so back to the Humane Society where it came from...and that's if I feel generous. Otherwise, next time it escapes out the back door I'll just say don't let the door hit you on the way out!
Maybe you are more of a pot girl... Light that sucker quick!![]()
Neitzsche said, "That which does not kill me, makes me stronger." This leads me to believe he must have had some experience with tequila.
Emotions seem to have different grips on us. Joy, and romantic love have grips like an infant: weak, tentative, and often easily distracted by some new thing to grasp.
Despair, loneliness, they seem to grasp with the unrelenting grip of a predator.
Friendship, and real love, they grasp with a firm warm embrace. Holding long enough, and always there to return to.
The love of yourself is the best love to explore. It opens your mind and heart to how wonderful love is and the chance to know how beautiful you are. Being able to see and feel that in yourself, gives you what you need to help others see it in themselves. Help everyone see it and the world changes, but it all starts with you.![]()
I believe that you find what you're looking for when you don't know you are looking. That happened when I found Lit years ago. Now it's as much a part of me as things I do in my day to day life. The people I have met here are just as important, mean just as much as those I see every day. This community as a whole is a pretty great place to be a part of. Thank you to everyone who has touched me in some way here.
