This avatar shit is making me insane!!!!

Ok, I'm trying to get an avatar. I've gone to that "freeavatars.net" site, and I've followed the instructions. When I go to the "change avatar" spot on here, it tells me that the file is not the appropriate type. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm not the most computer literate woman on the planet, so could someone please help? I'd be soooooooooooo grateful! Thank you.

Save the avatar you want to use to your hard drive.

Then make sure it's no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels.


Then go to your control panel, edit options, and add the av.

It also needs to be a JPG or a GIF too, but not sure.
