Be glad you're not involved with film making, including the screenwriting aspect which some of us aspired to. Hard to believe that Marlon Brando was the original choice to play Lawrence of Arabia. Worth spending an hour-and-a-half watching the two segments.

I've done the whole screenplay, development hell thing, and then just on small indie stuff. I can guarantee that it only works with a 'who you know, not what you've written' mindset.

The strange part about this movie is the the Robert Bolt was hired to revise the script after the movie's production had already started. He had to fly to the location in Jordan to do his work. Thus part of the movie is based on Michael Wilson's original and part of it on Bolt's version. Wilson didn't get a writing credit until years later.

He's lucky he got anything - the industry is full of horror stories, of people getting ripped off in a way that would hardly be accepted anywhere else, but because it's the magic of the movies, anything goes.
