Well yes im 5'2" and until i got pregnant with my daughter i weighed between 135 and 140 but in highschool i played Field Hockey (state champions 2 years in a row) and after I finished high school i started taking kickboxing lessons and continued my cardiac workouts three days a week and started lifting weights twice a week at the gym. I continued my kickboxing until I was 4 months pregnant and couldnt lift my leg to kick anymore but during my whole pregnancy i gained 65 lbs. Now as with a normal pregnancy at first they told me no exercise for 6 weeks then when they found the fracture in my pelvis i was told no abdominal exercise for 3 months. Do you know how hard that was for someone who always needed to be on the go? Well needless to say I have only lost 30 of those 65 lbs and i feel like a cow!! I know i cant afford to go to the gym anymore or to by any workout equipment so my daughter and I go on a 2 mile walk everyday (well when it isnt too cold or humid(it affects her asthma) for her) and weights ya wanna know what makes great weights those cans of Juicy Juice especially for someone like me who got used to lifting heavier weights!! I remember at my last job they asked if I could lift 20 lbs (thats what my daughter weighs) I said yea with one arm!! They asked if I could lift 50 lbs um of course I can. Then they pushed it and asked if I could lift 100 lbs. Can any woman lift 100 lbs? Im not talking weightlifters here!!!
NH, that's pretty clever to think of the Juicy Juice! Have you thought about maybe the YMCA or YWCA? Not sure if they have a gym, but it might be worth checking out.
Dynamic Deborah the soccer mom from hell can. She's three feet taller than her car with big shoulders. In fact she has expressed an interest in "bench pressing" (or something resembling it) Slut Boy and he must go 160 or so.
Dang Hunny, no way can I lift 50 lbs. I feel like such a weakling-lol. I remember the juice can workout. Plus the carrying the laundry basket workout, mowing the lawn workout & chasing after a toddler workout. It is amazing how fast they can move. Is your little one walking yet? Mine walked for about a month, started running & never slowed down. I used to get a good workout taking him to the park & everywhere else we used to go. You are doing just fine, I know how hard you work to take care of your daughter, because I did the same thing as a single mom.
We have a YWCA but they tore out the gym to put in more rooms for battered women and homeless teens. They were smart though they auctioned off all the gym equipment when they did that apparently the brought in close to a million dollars!! Honestly id rather they have more rooms for the people who need them than a gym even though it had a cheap membership of a 15 dollar donation to the YWCA every month!! Thats better than the local gym at 35 dollars a month and you have to sign a year contract.
I thought it might be worth it to bring it up, anyway. Maybe I'll check into it for me. It's more convenient for me than having to trek up to the base.
ok, so i thought and thought and thought,... my happiest moment,... and i have to say,.. it's my life,... allow me to ellaborate
1) i live in a free country- free bathrooms, water, matches, libraries, as a young woman i can interact with other young people in public,...etc.
2) i live in an economically prosperous time, in an area that is largely due to said prosper (the northwest,...)
3) my family loves me, and i love them, we enjoy each other's company, and it has always been that way.
4) everyone i know and love is happy (ish) and healthy.
i have to say, i stop and think about how wonderful my life has been, to have a happy upbringing, in a stable position, etc. i wish everyone could be so lucky,... i revel in it,... i know what i have, and i don't take it for granted,...
i also enjoy it enough for all those people who can't!!
oh teresa didnt want ya to think i forgot ya soo..
no, snickerdoodle isnt walking yet. They think that she will be a few months behind developing physically because of how sick she was in the first few months of her life and how many problems we had with finding a proper formula for her. We tried 8 different kinds of formula before we found that the only thing she kept down was whole milk (shes obviously not allergic to milk like her mommy) So at 6 months old her pediatrician decided lets just put her on whole milk and a series of vitamins twice a day and we havent had any problems with her eating ever since we slowly and finally put her on solids around 8 months her stomach was extremely underdeveloped from all the vomiting. She crawls and stand when holding on to things we are working on walking. She is even behind a little mentally too but they say she should be caught up before she would enter kindergarten. She only says mama, mummum, and bye bye but after almost losing my child numerous times early in her life every time she does something new it makes me happy!!
Hi Hunny, I am sure your daughter will be fine. My son was kind of slow developing, he was born a month early & did everything else late. My parents freaked that he didn't walk until he was nearly 18 months old. By the time he was 5, he had outgrown most of his allergies & did very well in school. My niece also had lots of allergies when she was little & has outgrown most of them. I'm glad she is doing well, love to hear about the kids.
I know I talk about my daughter alot but shes the most special thing that has ever happened to me. If you people ever want me to shutup just say so please I wont take any offense to it.
I almost died last night when I was having a quick family meeting with my mother, father, and stepmother. They told me I was a great mother, that they had doubted my ability to take care of the child I was carrying when I was pregnant. Apparently they had even talked to a lawyer on what would be need to be done if they thought I was unfit. But, they were wrong, They think Im doing a great job taking care of my daughter at first when they said that it hurt because of what they had done but I realized that they were looking at the best interest of the child just like I would have done if in a similar situation. It feels good knowing that they think im diong a good job.
Some of my happiest moments, (to get this thread back on the original topic of happiness and try to avoid talking about labour pain, or any kind of pain at all) *winces*
•The first time the Oilers won the stanely cup!
•Being told I had 15% to live and then blowing them all away by not only living, but being more sarcastic and stubborn then ever *L*
•The day my sister got married (I'm not married, nor do I have children yet, so that's as close as I get)
•Knowing that a puppy I saved from the side of the road who had got hit by a car was going to live and be fine!!
And it always make's me happy when I walk down the street and see other people happy and smiling!
Isnt saving animals on the side of the road nice!! I saved a wee little kitty once it was clean and looked well taken care of I think someone dropped it on the side of the road not long before i came along. I almost kept the kitty in my no pets allowed apt because i know what they do to aminals at the humane society but i only had the kitty for three days. Why? because i put the word out that i had the cutest little kitty that needed a nice big home to play in!! Of course the woman i found already had three cats and her and her fiance were looking to get another and decided they would scoop this one right up!!
Yeah, animals tug alot of heart strings for me. Especially the ones that have been abused or abandoned.
I have a dog (Got him from the S.P.C.A) where he had been abused as just a puppy He's only scared and timid around males though (go figure)
I have 3 cats, and one was a stray. Came to my house in the middle of a really hot dry spell, nearly dead of dehydration...and he couldn't of been more then 7 weeks old.
And I also have a rooster that I found one day on a camping trip ( I have no idea, and yes, it was a domesticated rooster, in the middle of the mountains).
So many animals though, I've picked up off the side of the road and couldn't keep, due to space and similar problems.
*sighs*
You know, honestly, anyone who doesn't spay or nueter their pets shouldn't be able to own animals.
Quartz, I totally agree about spaying/neutering. I also keep my cat inside as I live just off a very busy street. My cat is 14 & she adopted us. I think someone left her behind when they moved out of our apartments. I paid a pet deposit, took her to the vet to have her checked & fixed. She is my baby now & I can't imagine not having her. I am big softy when it comes to animals as well. We have several no-kill shelters down here that do an amazing job of placing abandoned animals. If I ever have a big enough place, would love to have a dog. There are so many puppies that need homes, but I think you need a yard if you like bigger dogs. I have a man in my apartments with a big chow dog & that poor dog never gets any exercise because he is cooped up in an apartment all day.
Yeah. You surely need a yard, and neighbours who won't call the cops when you get a new puppy and the little rascal WON'T shut up
Where I live, we don't have any 'no kill' shelters for animals, and recently we've had an over abundance of 'cat houses' where some crazy old woman has kept 50+ cats, all starving, sick, and mangled....all but 2 had to be put down.....
A 14 year old cat? Mine's getting there. They are 11, and the stray is a bit younger.
One has diabetes too, insulin shots twice a day.
And when it boils down to it, I have more compassion for animals then people, because they are like children, so helpless...
Well folks, as Bob Barker would say, "And Please Spay And Neuter your Pets!!"
