DMC is just using an in your face example to get his
point across. I already commented on that.
I stand by what I said previously.

And yes, I used that example to indicate how ruptured our society has been around race for its history. No matter how confident conservatives are that we no longer need affirmative action, for example, racism is still rampant in America. Witness the recent brouhaha over police targeting blacks in traffic stops. That blacks pull together makes complete sense and I applaud them for it.

And here's Todd who once worked with some blacks in NYC acting as though he understands what their experience has been. Give me a break!

This is merely one of Todd's daily shit stirrer posts and it obviously touched some tender places in a few of us. Now he steps back and tells us he's really not all that bad a sort of guy. I'm not claiming your a member of KKK, but you don't seem to have a very clear idea of who some of your conservative compatriots are and what they stand for.

So tell is what part of the White Patriot agenda you disagree with? That was a serious question.

I agree they need to draw their strength from wherever they can. I sometimes think that some Black leaders are more divisive than they are unifying. Al Sharpton and Farrakhan are two shining examples. I think Tavist Smiley is one of the more respectable Black leaders, and maybe separatist was too extreme a word to use for what he is saying. Farrakhan is definitely a rascist and separatist.

I agree that GB/DMC was trying to get in Todd's face. But calling someone a Klansman or a Nazi is not the way to do it. Todd is a lot of things, but I don't think he's a racist.

Caucasian,Aryan,white,Indo-European...whatever...part of the irony of my experiences is that I'm half white boy,and my white redneck fathers genetics are dominant in my skin color and body type...unless of course I dont oil my hair...then its afro time...thats when it becomes obvious,but my mother is black...and none would dispute it if they saw her.

Outright racism is socially unacceptable in our modern society....but stereotypical racism is alive and well in the USA..and untill the parents stop teaching their children this stereotypical BS...it will never end...

Thank you for bringing a note of reality to this conversation. Frankly, I'm embarassed by my own lack of sensitivity about this matter for so many years of my life. For the last few years I've been drawn to reading about the experience of blacks in this country and it has moved me deeply. I look upon the incredible dignity of so many black people I've known who navigate through a world where people can be so cruel. That rage exists in the black community is no surprise to me at all. I feel great shame for the brutality of so many who like myself were born with pink skin rather than a dark skin. It is a mark of deep sickness in our society that only time and great care will heal.
