Things to make Lit a better site

I cannot imagine enduring what they have to be going through for a quarter century. I was so crisped after the last company where I was CTO and spent the better part of a decade at 100+ hours a week.

I have a very scary thought. Do they have any form of a succession plan? Long term survivability is probably more important than any change we could suggest.
Yes, there have been a couple of erotica sites that shut down because the site owner either died or just got tired of it and no one was designated or empowered to take over when that happened. C-S-S-A is one example. If you want their stories, you're going to have to go to the Wayback Machine on the Internet Archive.

I think there needs to be a clearer distinction between a series and a chaptered story.

Not all series can be structured as multiple stand alones. One thing I have learned is that many readers will shy away from an 80k+ standalone, but happily read a series of four 20k chapters that comprise the same story.
That's on authors though. I'm not sure the site can do more than it already has, with the Series function. It's up to us to label our stories better, keeping in mind that most authors probably don't know the difference between chapters and series.

Yeah, I wasn't proposing a change, just explaining why I disagreed that all parts of a series need to work as stand alone stories.

1) What‽ I just started getting them again. Seize this heretic!

3) Honesty, joking aside, it's not gonna happen with just one person, and however she does it. That would require a team. Like LushStory where [unless you pay] it takes about the same amount of time, and sometimes longer. That would require probably a lot of work with a new system that's a bit more than whatever lets mods do what they do here. And a bit more thought and trust would need to be put in picking who is going to be a story mod.

4)Ehhh. It would give me an excuse to write bi/pan stories. I've never cared for this suggestion one way, or the other, but we got Gay, Trans, and Les. It's not gonna hurt nothing, but maybe Manu's fingers.

5) That would require the site to be permissable to multi chaptered submissions, like Wattpad, AO3, Inkitt, Quotev, FFN and it's sister site, StoriesOnline and it's sister site, Tapas, probably RoyalRoad, and probably AFF. But it simply can't be done, the sites pretty old, it's as old as FFN(1995 I believe), that never got a site update ever.
And Lush will let you know when a story is posted or something else happens.

It could be done; it's technically possible. But it's probably not worth the cost and effort, a much as we all wish they would do it.

What is FFN?

That reminds me of the old conspiracy theory from the early 80s that General Secretary of the Soviet Union was actually pushing up daisies, and what we were looking at overseeing the May Day parade was a looky-likey.
Well, they were going through them pretty quickly for a while. Remember President Reagan, when a reporter asked him early in his term why he hadn't met with a Soviet leader, saying "They keep dying on me"?

I need more space for titles and descriptions. I had one story which has a title and a subtitle, and that was too long for Lit's oh-so-short limits. I used the subtitle.

I agree with that, but there is a difference between considering them and implementing them. Still, it would be nice if we had some indication that they've at least looked at the idea. Maybe there are good reasons why it would be impractical to implement it, but it would b enice to look at it and determine that. Maybe some user has a good idea.
You said it better than I did. A response of any kind would be great.

4. Adding a Bisexual category.
A history on that.

Long time ago, and if you weren't here for this, it had to be. A lot people wanted a bi category. a popular poster, Stella Omega, approached laurel who said if she could get enough support for one, they would do it. Stella started a thread and many voiced there support and were excited to see it. Stella went back to laurel who then claimed she never said that. Stella posted a screenshot of the PM and Laurel never replied, and disgusted, Stella would end up leaving.

So, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will never happen.

Yes yes, I already know you don't believe that trans people existšŸ™„
Obvious you think they're the only ones who do.

But I'll give you the point that T/CD doesn't make a lot of sense.

Likewise, non consent/reluctance is not the same thing and combining them is why so many people have issues there. Meanwhile Mind control which is as NC as it gets has its own category when it should be in NC and reluctance by itself.

The answer for this is most likely they don't want to create even more categories, so we are going to be stuck with these flawed pairings.

I know you think this is some personal phobic thing, but the reality is it's not an attack, just another example of one of these things is not like the other that we're stuck with.

Let's not get started on how a cuck or hotwife category might be what it takes to clean up the LW cesspool, but why do that?

Same answer. Why would they?

Even in a series -- and I've done a few -- each story should stand on its own. It might refer to the prior story, but only in passing, and the reference is kind if in passing.

I ended one story with the sentence "The next thing I remember is the sun poking through the bedroom window." The follow-up (sequel) story begins "The Sun poked through Dorothy's bedroom window." That tells you it's the next morning, but the rest of the story stands on its own.
I've ended several stories with cliffhangers that could serve as lead-ins for a subsequent story, which were not in a series.

A literary series can be compared to episodic television programs, and I have a couple of those here. There are also stories that fall into the "universe" category, which could be compared to things like the "Mission Impossible" franchise.

Regardless of the format, readers should be able to easily distinguish whether a story is complete or not.

No no no! Fluoride is destroying our precious bodily fluids! The trans thing is from chemtrails and 5G. ;)
I got a few days worth of my fluoride intake, saturday, when somebody sprayed me and my fiance with a super soaker full of mouthwash. Although most of it got in our eyes.
