Doctors and nurses who won't listen when you tell them stuff.

Gil is in the hospital and he's having surgery on Monday. We saw his cardiologist a few days ago and she said on NO account was he to stop taking his blood thinning meds. She knew he was going to have to have this surgery eventually and she was adamant that they were to get in touch with her first. The surgery wasn't scheduled but has become necessary sooner than expected due to circumstances beyond our control

However it's the weekend and Professor Muckymuck has scheduled Gil for surgery on Monday and the registrar on duty wanted to cancel his medication. We protested and told them what his cardiologist had said. However by the time I left this evening he still hadn't had it. The only phone number I have for her is the one at the hospital, so I am going to ring the switchboard tomorrow and see if I can get a number to contact her on, or get them to page her and ring me, or something

Just saw this, Bandit. Since this is Monday evening, I'm assuming Gil's surgery is over. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery!

i hate hanging fucking pictures!

i just got a photo sent to me and had to rearrange an entire fucking wall of photos in order to hang it. the problem got worse when one of the pictures i took down became a regular BITCH to re-hang. it had tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny little loops on the back to hang it from. my head can only get so close to the wall to see what the fuck i'm doing and it took me like a half an hour just to get that piece of shit hung. then, to make matters worse, the addition of the new picture took everything out of level. why can't they make frames with a universal distance from top edge to hook? would someone please tell me that.

WPMO: Last weekend I had to be in north Louisiana, and I found that T-Mobile has absolutely no presence there, unless you're in Monroe, the closer to I-20 the better. My cell was useless. It's no use having virtually unlimited minutes, long distance, no roaming etc. when you can't either call out or receive.

SW and tex... i know what you're saying and i don't disagree with either point. i've just never come across a cell phone user who's truly content with their service. the bills get screwed up, the service is spotty... these things just don't happen with other technological devices. it's only acceptable for cell phones (and to some extent isp's and cable television) to be inadequate yet utilized. it fascinates me for some reason.

1. i recognize that it's impossible for there to be cell phone towers in the scientificially optimal locations from coast to coast to ensure 100% coverage everywhere and anywhere i go.

2. accounting systems are complex and have millions of records. sometimes, databases fuck up. it happens, i shrug, they credit me and i go on w/ life. neither for that matter is this issue unique to mobile phone carriers.

scalywag: my sympathies. i'm a fan of making ginger tea w/ honey for the throat. the heat may help w/ the nose.
