I'm grateful that I have good relationships with friends and family; that I live in a wonderfully free and diverse country where I can practice my (legal) beliefs without fear of persecutuion: that I am married to a loving and understanding wife who has stood by me during the darkest hours of my depression; that my children respect me; that I'm a pretty good cook and cleaner-upper; that after years of therapy I finally understand how I want to live my life. I am grateful for antidepressants, toilet paper, Balneol, gas pills and antacids. I am grateful for learning how to listen to other people and not judging them. I am grateful for the F word and the fact that I have learned when and where to use it. I am grateful for smilie faces on the BB so that we do not all appear to be one dimensional. But the thing that I am most grateful for is that I AM ALIVE and am enjoying the hell out of life.

Peace and love.

Is it Thanksgiving time already? And here I thought the next major holiday was Easter. :)

That's awesome, Blue. I try to include my gratitude list, everyday, when I write in my journal. I've found, even when life looks a bit bleak, that remembering I have so many reasons to be thankful, helps me focus on what matters. :)

I am grateful for the big, wonderful man in my life ... parents who think I will always be their "baby" ... a sister who is a best buddy ... friends who love me even when I'm obnoxious and wrong ... two dogs that think the sun rises and falls around me ... all the things I need to keep me mobile and comfortable ... education and work ... a nurturing community

and ... life is sweet :D

I'm grateful for my health, the love and support of friends and family and the love of a good man.

I am grateful that I am a strong woman.

I am grateful that I had the strength to leave my husband when I did, before much more of my confidence was lost.

I am grateful for the strength that sees me live on my own for the first time in my life. I am grateful that I no longer need to depend on other people to do things for me. I can do them myself, or if I choose, ask for help.

I am grateful for the love and support of my two children, and their spouses. I am grateful they they are happy and settled in their own lives. I am grateful for the grandchildren they will give me later this year.

I am grateful for the love and support of my friends, who are only a phone call away if I need help.

I am grateful for a happy disposition and an outgoing personality, that makes it easy for me to talk to people for the first time.

But most of all, I am grateful to be alive.
