I just heard a lawyer from Common Cause say that tobacco lawsuits were just the testing ground. They are now going after casinos! The lawyer predicted that within a few months, lawsuits could be leveled against automakers, and fast food chains. Personal responsibility and choice was a moot issue according to the lawyer.

"First we do is kill all the lawyers." W.S. :D

**When is too much.....too much?!!

Hey, you guys aint got it bad over there. In Australia at the moment the insurance system is fucked beyond all recognition because everyone is sueing everyone. A hell of a lot of small busnesses like pony clubs and indoor rock climbing places are closing down because they cant affort the insurance. The goverment is even talking about capping liability payouts and everything, though they are taking their time. Too little too late for a lot of people now.

Dont blame the lawyers for it entirely

:p

Lawyers are like the weeds... you kill one and two more pop up.

*Starts looking for a frivolous lawsuit of his own*

Think of this though. If you got rid of all the lawyers, it would decrease the population by such a large percentage that it might cause some kind of worldwide financial collapse:D

It takes greedy people to make a greedy system.
not just lawyers.

Yeah but greedy lawyers with no ethics certainly don't help the situation.

Not that any of our lit lawyers/future lawyers are like that.

What we need to get rid of is people who sue people and companies for every little thing. For instance, the Australia lady who sued the tabacco company because she is dieing with cancer. Now her case was ok because i think she sued cause they didnt have warnings on the packet when she started, but IF someone sued and they started smoking AFTER the health risks were clear then that is not right.
