This information has been willfully hidden from the public for years now. Referring to the NBC blurb about there being NO data base on the subject, what a woefully ignorant reporter. The government keeps records on EVERYTHING! Wanna know the frequency of hang nails, they have that info readily available. Now that the dam has burst, well, sprung a major leak anyway, what to look forward to under the Trump administration.

What I predict MAY happen is that both Latino and Illegal numbers will be broken out into the FBI's UCR. Currently the Latino's are lumped in with 'whites' even though they claim to be a 'race apart.' And illegals aren't broken out at all no matter what their race. The data is there, just not public yet.

USA imprisons many more people than any other nation; only tiny Seychelles has higher incarceration rate. A small percentage of inmates in USA are non-citizens. Locking up more people before they've been convicted of anything is big business here. Private prisons are booming business and needn't even depend on convictions. Lock-em up.
