There's one thing about the American administration...

I seriously doubt they're hooded an forced to kneel for hours like this in Afghanistan.

What your all missing is that these folks haven't been convicted of a crime. They haven't even been charged with one! You need to think about how you'd feel if another nation imprisoned americans without a trial or charges, shackled them like that, hooded. If we start treating POW's this way then we have no room to talk when other nations begin treating our boys like this.

Like the kidnapped missionaries from Wichita Kansas that are being held in Panama (?) by Muslim extremists? Or like the guy held by the same extremists that was beheaded? Or how about the non-American women in afghanistan who were forced to wear hoods? Only none of them are prisoners of war, just average citizens. I forget that they have fewer rights.

Get over it. They're fed and clothed. More than the people of their home country are offered on a daily basis.

And you were showing as a guest because you were spelling your name wrong.

I am from the Chicago area; I was sitting right here on my computer, posting on another bulletin board when a huge boom shook my house a few months ago. I found out from my police scanner that it was a sonic boom from some F-16s that had scrambled and where on there way to the O'Hare area airspace. I posted about it live as it was happening on the other forum. It seems a mentally disturbed guy had ran to the door of the cockpit and was screaming and kicking the door to get in. He was tackled, subdued, and sedated by the passengers and crew. The two F-16s escorted it down to the ground during landing.

Don't make wide-ranging general judgments like the air patrols don't work period. In this case IF he HAD gained control the fighter jets where there in time to shoot it down had its target been the Sears Tower thus saving thousands of lives.

What? No. The F16s didn't do a damn thing in that situation, and that mentally handicapped person was not a terrorist, he just freaked out. The F16s just flew right by it, and besides, they scrambleded, they were not an Air patrol. An Air Patrol is just when they fly over a city for no good reason, enjoying the view and wasting money.

lol

"criminal charges"? lol Lol LOL!

They were caught FIGHTING against our forces during a WAR! While there is some confusion whether they qualify as a POW there is NO confusion that this is a military conflict and not a matter of civil disobedience.

LOL! Charges, hehe, Enemy soldiers are not charged as citizens and judged in courts during a war. They were captured battling our allies and our troops, that makes them prisoners regardless of their status as POWs or unlawful detainees.

From what I can remember it seems to me every time our soldier ARE captured by an enemy they are treated MUCH worse than we treat their captured soldiers. There was the 76 or so 101st airborne troops massacred by the SS during the Battle of the Bulge. There was the Bantaam death march that the Japanese soldiers put our forces through when they captured the Philippines. Most recently there was Saddam Hussein whose forces beat and tortured our airman to force them to give televised propaganda messages against the war on TV.

Most of these photographers are actively LOOKING for controversy because if they stir things up it will cause better sales of their papers and more viewers to tune in. Many of these media types of ex-60s anti-war protesters who are frozen in an anti-military establishment mentality. These people will never support us no matter what they do, they are like the encino man, frozen in time at around 1969. I have no doubt that any photos they show are the most provocative they can find. They have no qualms about bending the truth to fit their needs and promote their worldview. That photo may have been of something that only lasted several minutes and is certainly not indicative of something that goes on 24/7. You must understand that there is a media bias, it is very real. A poll was recently taken during the last presidential election and a full 96% of the media polled where self-described democrats. They have a self-professed agenda to sway our opinions to their views, the news is NOT a neutral place to be informed on world events anymore.

It looks like they're just at one of thier five daily prayers. Contemplation of good for the soul. I still remember turning on the television intending to turn PBS on for my little one. The first tower was already burning. Then to my horror, I watched live as the second plane struck. I stayed glued to the television and watched as the towers came down.

I'll not shed a tear for these thugs!

If it was one of their prayers then they'd all be facing the same direction.

They didn't do anything because they didn't HAVE TO do anything! The situation was under control by the time they got to the plane in mid-air. The point was that they were there in time to shoot down the plane (if need be) if it HAD been a terrorist hijacking.

Point taken on air patrols and scrambling, maybe all we need is just the funds to keep several air national guard units on constant stand-by and not necessarily flying around for no good reason.

BTW

The Abu Sayyef in the Philippines, not rebels in Panama, are holding the missionary couple. The only country in our hemisphere with a indigenous Muslim rebel group is Trinidad and Tobago and the only countries that have significant Muslim populations of any sort are us, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Guyana.

my point still stands, but thanks for the clarification. The news reports describe the hostage takers as 'Muslim Rebels/Extremistis' doesn't require a large population of Muslims to have extremists hangin about, does it?

Exactly.. How many times have they been needed to do anything? They didn't even respond when that kid went crazy.

And if things play out like before, then we won't know that the plane is hijacked until it does something.

I've taken this straight from Yahoo.

Yesiree, Bob. The most trusted news source available.
Why am I not surprised? He can get his news from the pretty pictures.

Those red outfits the prisoners wear are just to die for.

I just want to know when we (The U.S.A.) are going to start bombing Ireland.

I mean we have to take care of those IRA terrorists right?

So using Afghanistan as our model, when are we going to bomb them into the stone-age, topple their governmant, and detain their citizens.

I think Ireland/IRA should be next because it will look better on TV. I'm tired of seeing the same old desert wars on TV. I think Ireland will be a much more aesthetically pleasing setting for U.S. news coverage of our latest war.

BTW: I'm not serious, so I don't want to hear shit from you flag waving, New Patriots.

New Patriots are those assholes who put American Flag bumper-stickers on their cars and wave the old Red, White and Blue around pointing fingers at anyone who doesn't do the same. The same people who on September 10 (Tenth) didn't give a rat fuck about patriotism.

There's no danger of America entering a war with a country that would probably beat her...

It's just not her style.

Put your damn Redcoats on and we'll go two out of three. Well, we already did that. 3 out of 5? :p

dumbasses

Ireland is the Brits problem, so why don't you take care of your own fucking mess for a change instead of calling on us to bail your ass out yet again.

Here is a hint p-p man, American IS so strong that actually we DON’T need you OR ANYONE else to help us in a war on terrorism OR ANY other potential war we might find ourselves in. He just asked for help TO HUMOR YOU and make you feel needed and important. If you actually analyzed the numbers and looked at our military forces the statistics, numbers, and quality of our troops make in obvious that WE CAN take care of all of our problems unilaterally if we wanted to be selfish jerks. People like you are half-assed pseudo-intellectuals who many times have little idea of the things they speak of. I spend allot of time studying and researching the topics which I speak of. We can defeat any of out enemies without your or any other European countries help and do so quite handily. However, the casualties would be higher and it would be damaging POLITICALLY to our reputation and make diplomacy that much harder on the international arena. There is little the British or any other country can provide to us militarily that cannot be easily done by ourselves. We let you help us because it makes us feel that much closer as a team, a sort of trans-national cohesion building with other NATO countries. You can add up all the tanks of the rest of NATO combined and we alone would still have more than the EU just to give one example. So sit down and shut up when it comes to talking about subjects, which you obviously haven't a clue on.

research before you spout off

The only real tangible benefit we receive from your help is allowing you and other countries to pitch in lowers our casualties that we sustain. For that we are grateful, but don't think for a minute that militarily we could not take out all 7 "terrorist nations” without you in a total war effort (simultaneously if need be). So speaking for this particular American, I thank you, the people of Britain for your help. Just don't get a big head about it though.

Why do I have this image of you as a short, fat little bloke, puffing and huffing, waving chubby fists indignantly in the air as you rush, red faced on Miss Piggy legs, hither and thither venting your spleen?

I dunno.

But I do...

:D

hmmm...

I don't know, perhaps because you are a retarded idiot?
I am probably taller than you are and benched 255 this afternoon. What can you do you pompous little ass?

My 2-cents

p-p man, I am a gypsy of the net. I have been to well over a dozen boards from here to Kalamazo. People like you, although you smugly Think you are unique and superior to everyone else are a dime a dozen. I know egotistical little shits like you from this and a half-dozen other boards. You think you have some special viewpoint individual to only you, but your arguments are as worn-out and popular as Levi's were in the late 1980s.

I know your little game and tactics you play. When you meet a superior foe in a debate that has facts on their side, you simply play the character assassination game. You are pathetic and make me want to vomit. I have seen so many like you, you are no rebel and you have nothing new to say that I have not heard a thousand times already.

Ahh I see...

It's a lack of self-confidence thing is it?

Never mind.

You'll probably grow out of it...

:p

Ok

Well, I'll admit to my lack of self-confidence "thing" p_p man, if you admit to your miniature penis problem. At least MY problem IS something that I can GROW out of! lol Too bad the same can't be said to your little secret. lol
