There's another recession coming

Yes, they do.

Property taxes are exactly that.

You can't "reason" you way out of that fact or reality, best tuck your commie tail like RuPaul taught you and just GTFO now because you know you'll lose that argument BADLY. :D
If you look around you will notice -- and it does matter -- that there are no tax-free societies. The only exceptions being failed states, like Somalia (not a good place to live) and countries where the government owns income-producing property, like Saudi Arabia (not a free country).

“The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending,” Trump said in his inaugural address.

It’s true that Trump set the record for deficit spending during his first administration. It’s nice that he’s taking responsibility for inflation. 👍

Well, it looks like we're about to have a trade war -- not with China, but with Canada and Mexico -- which I would have thought impossible, under the USMCA treaty (which Trump himself negotiated.)

Of course not, but there is nothing particularly objectionable about taxing real property, as opposed to income or sales.
Of course there is.

It's not private property anymore....the state is the owner, not the person who paid for it. And that's wrong.

Just because your land is taxed does not mean it is not yours. You speak as if this were some Communist innovation. In actual fact, real property tax is probably the oldest of all forms of taxes.

Owners pay taxes

No....owners don't pay rent. You can dress it up in all the official statist language you want.

Owners don't pay rent.

Jefferson's vision of "freedom" was a nation of yeoman farmers owing nothing to any landlord -- but they would still owe taxes on their land to the state.

The state is the landlord!!! Everything is collectively owned!! Spoken like a true commie....

I don't care, if Jefferson was pro-property taxes, which I seriously doubt, he was WRONG.

You've got to hand it to Donald with his ready explanations! I know this isn't fake noos because I heard it, unless AI made him say something else, but, when asked the other day whether all these 25% tariffs would simply lead to retaliation from Canada, Mexico and the rest with all the stuff they sell to the US - an obvious question, which anyone would have seen coming - he just brushes it off kind of with a shrug, saying: "But we don't need what they have". Simple and brilliant! Self-sufficiency, way to go!!

Don't pay your tax and see how quickly they take what you "own". City, county, or school needs more money? Let's just go increase the valuation of that property you "own" there. Oh, wait, the city needs a new bypass. Don't want to sell the family home? Too bad, here's market value. You had your chance to fight it when they posted the notice in the court house basement.

The state can take your land for any reasons that seem good to the state, at any time. The power of eminent domain is inherent in government's sovereignty and is much older than the whole system of Anglo-American common law. You do not know better than the whole history of civilization.

I understand you're anti-private property. But that's not the legal reality.

Eminent domain is not what you seem to think it is.

You do not know better than the whole history of civilization.

Says the guy who thinks socialism works.....LOL
