I believe that it was the management.
The manager of the store decided to save K-Mart thousands of dollars by only employing a few cashiers.
Everytime I went to K-Mart, I had to stand in line for at least five minutes.
One time while I was waiting in line, I viewed a cashier putting her cash drawer into the register.
I walked over there expecting her to be open for business in a few moments.
When she saw me standing there, she said, "Sir, I will not be open for a while. Go along and stand in line with the others."
After the K-Mart closed, the local newspaper submitted a story about the event.
Reporter says to unemployed K-Mart woman , "Why do you think K-Mart closed it's doors?"
Woman replies, "It the was the attitude of the customers. They didn't appreciate us."
