It is no secret that I am a staunch advocate of the death penalty, just as I recommend putting other vermin or rabid dogs to death. However, I have my doubts about this case:

I don't know about his guilt. Hopefully, there was some other evidence against the convicted man, such as gun powder residue or other forensic evidence like that. Even so, I have to wonder why some people have changed their minds now.

But, what I am really saying is to wonder why this is a death penalty case at all. The victim was a security officer. The fact that he was sometimes a cop should mean nothing. It was a spontaneous thing, not premeditated, and the convicted man was only 19 or 20 at the time. As I say, I strongly favor the death penalty, but only for the most heinous of crimes, and I don't think this one reaches that level.

However, the other one mentioned certainly does. This scum raped a woman and tried to murder her, and did murder her two little children. Very few people need killing as much as he does. Hopefully, by this time the world has become a better place because he is no longer polluting it by being alive.

In the case of Davis it looks like the system has worked. Whether he was the one who did the deed or not is irrelevant at the current time, just that there is enough doubt in the minds of the SC is enough.

As for the second case...I agree he doesn't deserve to take up space on our planet anymore.
