I was thinking earlier today how my taste in music has changed over the years, and thought it might make a fun get-to-know-each-other thread. So...

List your favorite bands/musical artists when you were in your formative years (high school/college), then list your favorite ones now:

Then: Dance, House, techno etc. no real favorite bands etc.

Now: Dance, House, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, reggae, dancehall, uk garage.

i like the old skool, early hip-hop etc, the pioneers of that genre if you like altho some of the new stuff is very good

snoop, ll cool j, ice cube, Ice t, NWA, Tupac, Dre, nate dogg, warren g, ludacris, run dmc, grandmaster flash & furious five) 50, Eminem, kanye, obie trice, will smith, prodigy, U2, Faithless, & many more lol

i listen to quite a wide variety of music but if i had to nail it down to "now and then" ...

then: Scorpions, Rush, Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangione
now: Medeski Martin & Wood , Junior Brown , Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Joe Satriani

although i was quite the hardcore metalhead along the way (Judas Priest, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer...)

Then (college): Journey, early Prince, mostly R & B.

Now: U2, Bryan Adams (still love his older stuff), old-school jazz (i.e. John Coltrane), modern (i.e. Diana Krall), and a little bit of classical.
