Quotes for the laws of change...

"I watched my country turn into a coast-to-coast strip mall and I cried out in a song:
if we could do all that in thirty years, then please tell me you all -
why does good change take so long?"
Greg Brown, "The Poet Game"

" It may seem easier for our life to remain constant.
But change, really, is the only constant.
For an organization such as ours, change is the engine of growth and the muse of creativity. "
Michael D. Eisner, The Disney Company

"Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past and present are certain to miss the future."
John F. Kennedy

" Change is what keeps us fresh and innovative.
Change is what keeps us from getting stale.
Change is what keeps us young. "
Rick Pitino

" They always say that time changes things,
but you actually have to change them yourself. "
Andy Warhol

" If we don't change, we don't grow.
If we don't grow, we aren't really living. "
Gail Sheehy

" The most fatal illusion is the settled point of view.
Since life is growth and motion, a fixed point of view
kills anybody who has one "
Brooks Atkinson, Drama critic

" To improve is to change;
to be perfect is to change often.
Winston Churchill

"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the
troublemakers, the round pegs in a square hole, the ones
who see things differently. They're not fond of rules,
and they have no respect for the status quo. You can
quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them,
because they change things. They push the human race
forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones,
we see genius, because people who are crazy enough
to think they can change the world, are the ones
who'll do it."
Apple Computer Commercial 1997

"He was respected, because he brought a reality change."
Phil Jackson
(comparing Dennis Rodman to the Sioux heyoka, the cross-dressing, backward-talking tribal clown)

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
Gandhi

"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain."
Maya Angelou

"Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken."
Frank Herbert

"I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is they must change if they are to get better."
G. C. Lichtenberg

"Change is inevitable, except from vending machines."
Unknown

"To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly."
Henri Bergson

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. "
Alan Cohen

"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself."
Leo Tolstoy

"The art of progress is to preserve order amid change and to preserve change amid order."
Alfred North Whitehead

If our lives are indeed the sum total of the choices we've made, then
we cannot change who we are. However, with every new choice we are given, we
can change who we are going to be.
Narrator in "The Outer Limits" (1995)

"Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change."
Confucius

"To change and to change for the better are two different things."
German proverb

"Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts."
Arnold Bennett

"None of us knows what the next change is going to be, what unexpected opportunity is just around the corner, waiting a few months or a few years to change all the tenor of our lives."
Kathleen Norris

"We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses."
C. G. Jung

"You don't have to be the Dalai Lama to tell people that life's about change."
John Cleese

"Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. And change has its enemies"
Robert F. Kennedy

"Change does not change tradition. It strengthens it. Change is a challenge and an opportunity; not a threat."
Prince Phillip of England

"Some people change when they see the light, others when they feel the heat."
Caroline Schoeder

And the gals mean to correct that wrong
By constantly changing the guy
Perhaps that's why they always run.
