The Worst & Why

that's actually second person.

and I wrote one once, but it wasn't really a story, it was a writing exercise :D

Fuck. Damn technical details. It's like being in school.

Thinking it over a little further, I still have a story up I worte for a Chrsitmas contest called "Santa, Jesus, Rachel & Me" whihc, now that I think of it, is insane.

I don't know what I was thinking, but it was a fantasy with me and Santa in his sleigh, with Jesus riding in the back on the sacks of toys, and we decided to visit a character who was a composite of all the girls I'd known and possibly hurt in my life. They parked the sleigh out back and I went in and talked to her and we ended up making love, but I had to tie her up first for no good reason I can think of now, other than I thougt it needed some heat.

I came out and Jesus said something schmaltzy about love being love no matter how you do it, and we flew away in the sled.

I don't know what the hell I was smoking at the time. Sometimes you just let the arrow go and it hits you in the ass.

Not to nit-pick, but doesn't the "you" indicate that it has 2nd-person tendencies? And that that is the real cringer... First person is quite common and quite easy to write.

Yeah, whatever.

Edited Bit: Forgot the link.

Why preface comments with, "Not to nit-pick..." when that's precisely what you mean to do?

Usually it seems that, if you think that way, your stuff can't possibly be that bad. :p
on your own head be it...

I suppose we're splitting hairs now.

The example given of 2nd person POV on this page doesn't fit with its "Who is telling the story?" explanation. The person telling the story is still the narrator. In fact, I'm having a difficult time thinking of any example in which "you" actually tells the story.

2nd person seems more an indicator of the TOV (target-of-view).

Now, I've gone and  myself. Off to Google ...

That's one of the nice things about being uneducated.

I don't know and don't care why I'm supposed to like a story, I just do.

And there is a spelling mistake in the first line following the Third Person POV example :p

I have one two person POV and it was hard to write, but I've gotten really good feedback from it - even from some folks here on the AH. :D :D It's calle Your Welcome Home. I won't fib, it was tricky to not slip in any "I"'s... but I didn't. :D
