of owning a big house is having to paint the sumbitch!! 3 gallons of paint so far and I'm not done yet.

I found that the worst part was repointing the brickwork.

I employed contractors. Three of them took a month, working eight hours a day for six days each week.

It was a fixed price contract. Twenty years later the foreman still shudders when I mention "repointing".

Amen to that! My ceiling needs painting... and my icemaker just broke...
