Dear friends,

my thoughts, my sympathy are with those who mourn or miss their loved ones.

However, if there is something to be said to sooth their pain is that this murderous plan had probably overseen a slight detail but its importnace now can no longer be ignored. The whole world has never been so united ever since the outbreak of WWII. This is again the time when values that distinguish the civilized world from bloodt hirsty barbarians gain so much signiffigance.

But what comes tomorrow? It is up to every one of us where ever in this world to defend what's just and right and good by simply doing what's just and right and good.

Yes. Thank you.

It just saddens me greatly, that it takes a tragedy of this magnitude to bring the hearts and minds of the world together.

Today in Denmark you were able to see the Danish flag at half-mast everywhere. Outside every state and goverment building, and also outside private homes and companies. I myself what pleased to see that my company also put the flag's at half-mast today, because it is truely a day of sorrow.

Yesterday a lot of Danes placed flowers and lit candles outside the fence around the US Embassy, to show that they were saddened by what happend.

Here's a picture from the Embassy

United we shall stand, to overcome the cruelty of of yesterdays actions.

That is simply awesome. That brought tears…

It’s real nice to find parts of the world recognize we’re not just out for ourselves. We certainly don’t feel loved outside our country. We don’t think you like us. And we like YOU! We can be selfish, but our common goal is a peaceful world. We want your freedom. That really does matter to us. And we’re willing to take the punches for it. It can, and does, hurt that it isn’t appreciated (let alone spat upon; mocked).

That was quite a sentiment. We’re not all alone in it, eh? Thanks so much. I needed that. Wow…

(I'm really spilling on my face right now..... didn't realize that mattered so much to me...... just realizing it right now. That sentiment was truly appreciated. I can't stress that enough..... damn, I'm really chocked up..... struggling in my chest even........ that's the first release of tears I've had since this happened...... ouch. I really hope that post gets witnessed here by many..... I don't think I'm alone in the probable reaction. Wow.... very unexpected.......)

Almost same here in Germany as in Denmark

Just a few impressions from German places of public interest, mainyl the US Embassies ....

All over Europe there will be a 3 minute silence on Friday .. to show our grief and the solitarity with the US and our horror and disgust related to the attacks on the US.

I want to mention that many Germans have lost their lifes too (presumably) - some in the planes that crashed - some in the large German companies (banks and insurances) that were having offices in the WTC. Many Germans (as I myself) have relatives in NYC and we are feeling the pain with those who have lost friends or relatives (Luckily I haven't)

Be assure America - we grief with you! We may be an ocean away - but we are with you in this!

All we can do though is go and have silence minutes and memoriam masses and donnate blood for being shipped to the US... so little we can do and so much a feeling of helplessness
and frustration

Stock Market in Frankfurt was closed and brokers were in total shock not trading any more on Sept. 11th.

To everybody here who are surprise at the reaction from the Danes and the Germans as Hecate showed with pictures, all I can say is that we do support America in cases like these, because they have helped us so many times when it have been needed.

I know that the Danish Military will join in via NATO if called upon to retaliate the act of war commited against USA, and therefor also on NATO, yesterday.

I will be one of those people who'll be holding 3 minute of silence friday at noon CET (Central European Time) which will be 6:00 am EST.

I also want to add that as a regular blood donor, I would have been donating blood as well, if it wasn't because I got a tattoo a while back, and because of that I can't donate for 1 year.

I plead to all people here to donate blood even when it's not a crisis situation, because there are a real need for it all the time.

There are no words to describe how I and I am sure most Americans feel at the outpouring of love and support from other countries around the world.

It is truly a unity that states, in the end, we are all tied together. Thanks to all who pause a moment in their busy lives to send their thoughts and prayers..not to mention blood and resources to help us in our time of need.

The Union Jack is also flying half mast throughout the country.
Terrorism is never acceptable, but this is on a scale which is simply difficult to respond to without disbelief and horror. Our thoughts go with the victims, their families and the people who now must rebuild their world. Let us all try to rebuild ours so that nothing like this can happen again. Anywhere.

Those of you who are interested in the statement and first reactions of the German government may like to check that link .. there are video sequences of the first statements and declarations of German government ...

Just so you know we are not ignoring or tolerating what is happening but are with you all in this! It was after all not only an attack on the USA but on the whle civilized world.

Turning poing in world's history

My friends

from yesterday on many things will not be the same in the world as we knew it probably any more. Planes fdivert from their routes by mistake will be from now on legitimate targets. The safety a home provides will be relative. The abilities of the defence mechanisms against terror in every single country in the world will be in the best case questioned. Terrorism itself is no longer defined as a "harmless" carbomb, the killiing of a key personality or an adventurous hijacking of a plane. Probably there are indeed no limits to a satanic imagination.

What can be opposed to that is perhaps the will to live a life in freedom.
