The World Has Gone Topsy Turvy

I'm cleaning my house. heh. I've never been a housekeeper and normally my best friend cleans my house for me, but since our falling out, my house has gone downhill in a hurry. Even me, being the self-proclaimed slob I am, could not stand it for one minute longer.

So I took myself to Wal-Mart and bought:

Orange concentrate cleaner
Orange grease foaming spray
Lysol
Clorox
A new dobie pad
handy wipes
a new mop
cascade
Windex

And I'm cleaning. My kitchen looks almost brand new now. And it smells like a big fat ripe orange! I never knew cleaning could be so much fun. It's really satisfying to see a bright shiny stovetop, and sparkling kitchen floor! I've been at it for almost 2 hours now, so I thought I'd share my newfound passion.

Cleaning isn't fun.. but the results sure make you feel good. Congrats on your kitchen...

I started on the bathrooms last night but they still need some work. Yep, bathrooms, LR and I'm currently cleaning out the BR & washing the sheets.

I'm glad I don't have stairs. In the house where I grew up, my job was to vaccum the stairs and it was a bitch!

You can have my stairs. They are solid oak. Pretty but they show the dust if they aren't atleast damp mopped everyday.

I hate dirt.. but I hate mopping more. LOL

I'll take mopping over vacuuming anytime! Of course, I love my mop, but that's another story.

One day when I have a WHOLE lotta money, I'm gonna rip out all the stupid carpet and tile the house. I just haven't been able to figure out if I'd be able to stand the acoustical hell my living room & dining room would become (I have like 16' high ceilings.)

I actually like cleaning if I have the right tools for the job. It's when you work and work and nothing actually changes or looks better that it gets depressing.

We have stains in our house where you aren't supposed to get stains. It's sad.

I've already cleaned four regular bathrooms, one master bathroom, one powder room, two kitchens, two dining rooms and two sets of stairs.
