That sounds like the author uploaded changes. Under most circumstances, those changes will be put through in 72 hours or less.

If it's been 72 days, it's probably dead in the water. If the author doesn't do anything to update the text, the site editor won't do a thing.

Your only option is to PM the author (if the author allows PMs) and ask if they're going to resubmit. At this point, only the author can do anything with the story.

having just gone...wayback...and reread this story, there are elements in it that could be considered to violate the 'over 18' rule. Maybe a reader flagged it.

Probably. The "submission awaiting moderator's approval" notice is the standard one for a content rejection, and rejections of a published story are nearly always content related. Not sure you should be encouraging Wayback as a technical workaround for content violations, though. Shouldn't you be supporting Lit's content rules, not subverting them? - if you care about the integrity of the publishing platform, I guess.
