In my Senior Seminar, I'm reading The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. It's a book that has nothing to do with eroticism, but there was one paragraph in the whole book that got me to thinking about the erotic nature of sugar.
Have you ever had a moment when you've bitten into a nice, juicy apple and savor the taste of its natural sweetness? Do you remember the first time you've tasted chocolate, the intoxicating product of the coco bean that some of us can't live without?
I remember the first time I had a chocolate covered strawberry. The elegant blend of flavors on my tongue was so explosive that I wished I could have stopped time to experience it forever. The sweet taste stayed with me even after the chocolate covered strawberries were all gone.
