Debate #3
a. Obama states that his foreign policy decisions are all correct
b. Obama states to Romney "Every time you've offered an opinion, you've been wrong"
c. Obama acknowledges that Romney has the same position as Obama on some issues
d. Therefore, Obama admits to having wrong opinions as well
e. Therefore, some of Obama's foreign policy decisions are wrong

So, he does not deserve another term as Commander-in-chief

I'll have more later. What is your rationale?

I've said all along that who wins the election is insignificant, Romney was governor of the most liberal state in America, he's a RINO and dude ranch cowboy.

More goofball logic? At least you seem to be coming up with this material on your own instead of just pasting other people's thoughts like most of your colleges here. I mean your stuff oozes absurdity at every possible junction but at least it's your stuff.

Hey, he said he's "severely conservative". What more do you want

Statements a, b, and c are valid. Obama affirmed that in debate #3. Read the transcript. Knowing a, b, and c are valid, what conclusion would you come to?

Whoa. Who actually thinks that if asked Obama wouldn't state he's made some mistakes?

Since you have the transcript can you tell me where Obama said that his foreign policy decisions have all been correct? Because the word 'correct' does not appear in the transcript at all when I do a word search.

And the — the challenge we have — I know you haven’t been in a position to actually execute foreign policy, but every time you’ve offered an opinion, you’ve been wrong. You said we should have gone into Iraq despite the fact that there were no weapons of mass destruction. You said that we should still have troops in Iraq to this day. You indicated that we shouldn’t be passing nuclear treaties with Russia, despite the fact that 71 senators, Democrats and Republicans, voted for it.

You’ve said that first we should not have a timeline in Afghanistan then you said we should. Now you say maybe or it depends, which means not only were you wrong but you were also confusing and sending mixed messages both to our troops and our allies.

Obama effectively brought up a number of wrong foreign policy opinions of Romney's.

Whoa. Who actually thinks that if asked Obama wouldn't state he's made some mistakes?

Obama essentially believes his foreign policy is dead on. Although I watched one interview with Obama (maybe with George Stephanopoulos??) - Obama admitted to making a mistake - he admitted that he could have done a better job explaining things to the American People.

If he did not cite an error, the we can assume he:
1. has an error but chose not to discuss it at the debate OR
2. has no error

He did not explicitly state he was error-free.

You don't go flaunting that you've made errors. You admit them if you're called on them but you don't run around screaming I fucked up. So your first premise is already dead on arrival. You can shut the fuck up.

Just because you think something doesn't make it fact.

"There have been times, Governor, frankly, during the course of this campaign, where it sounded like you thought that you’d do the same things we did, but you’d say them louder and somehow that would make a difference,"the president said.

That proves assertion c, and also contradicts assertion b. How do we (you and I) proceed now? We have to resolve this... the election is soon. LITsters need to know the truth so they can cast an honest vote based on clear information.

I'm going to go with 1. Seems as how debates are there for candidates to look good to voters, Obama chose not to waste his valuable time attacking himself. This is a real brainbuster question to you huh?

Okay, if it will make you feel better, forget about "a."

Focus on my post (see a few posts up) that talk about b and c.

And don't be so testy. So what Obama is behind. So what Obama will likely lose. You have your health, and that's important.

Assertion C isn't an assertion so you should get rid of it. It's a plain matter of record that Obama acknowledged Romney duplicating his ideas on foreign policy.

I am waiting for you to address post #13.

Actually b isn't an assertion either, it's a direct quote.

Where we go from here is that you just disregard your OP I guess.

Yeah, and with all these colleges to choose from. At least we know you came up with that on your own.

get rid of it because it does not fit your model. I say we keep it. Obama made the acknowledgment. And now we have the contradiction with b.

It's not an assertion, it's just a reference to the transcript. To answer post #13, there's nowhere to go from here.

So assertion is not a positive statement or declaration? I thought it was. Direct quote fits the definition.

Where do we go? Obama has a contradiction. I think he could not run on his record, so he attacked Romney by stating "b."

Romney was right: attacks are not neither an agenda, nor a vision for the future.

If we forget about "a" your entire premise vanishes and you're no longer attempting to say anything.

This thread sucks.

face it, your Beloved Obama said something stupid at the debate just because he wants to get reelected - because he cannot run on his record. I will not reward his silliness.

I like this thread because it brings out the worst in Libs.

Since we're removing assertion A (Obama claims perfection), there's no contradiction. You either need to go back to ascribing thoughts to Obama or just let it go.
