For those who may watch NBC’s “The West Wing”, the latest episode, the ‘live debate’ one, aired Sunday night and if you wish to vote on who won the debate, follow the link above.

I personally thought it was a draw, although the site claims 70 to 29 percent for Santos, the Democrat candidate.

I was however, impressed by how evenly the writers presented both sides of the argument on several issues that many of us have locked horns on here on the forum.

Just wondered if anyone saw and has any comments…

pfft .. I thought Vinick kicked ass

(course I always have been an Alan Alda fan)

phhtttt! (I agree, but I only like Alda in 'MASH') I thought the Republican appeal to reason and rationality and the Democrat sticking to maudlin social issues and big brotherism, ploughed them under.

I tried, but couldn't watch it. Politics is fake enough without watching actors fake politics.

Well, LadyJeanne...I am sure many would agree with you...

However.

The art of true politic, the larger affairs of man, are both a product of 'the real politik' and art, the world of the imagination.

Unless one is dealing with a Monarch or a Dictator, then the intermixed affairs of men and women as they pursue management with all the human frailties, can be well expressed in theatre, be it Shakespeare or modern television.

At least...that be my take, fake or not.

Of course; I don't disagree. I just couldn't stomach watching it at this time. I need a break.

I have been watching Rome on HBO, though. Lots of politics there. With blood.
