Really, the only things that I have issues with are my upper arms and my stomach. everything else is how I want it to be. My legs are strong, shaped nicely, and my ass is on its way to being a thing of beauteous perfection thanks to Fed Ex Squats. To help matters along and up my energy and drive I bought some Hydroxycut last week. Did I think it would do anything? No. Was I wrong? Yes. Am I already seeing results? Yes.

I have this pair of Detroit jeans I could comfortably fit into about six months ago. Then they stopped fitting. Then I was pissed. I put them away in the closet when we moved in and just kind of left them there, in a denim pile. I was sort of desperate for something to wear to work last night, so I waded through my mess of a closet and came out with the Detroit jeans. Holding them up, I sort of prayed they'd fit over my once flat, "white" ass. A small downside to the assifying, box lifting squats at work is that none of my pants fit correctly over my bum anymore.

I washed my hair, shed my pajamas, and held my breath while I wiggled my way into the pants. I really didn't think they'd fit. Not only did they fit, but they hugged my ass perfectly, and showed what great shape my legs have.

Healthifying, week one, is over. I've adjusted and improved my eating habits, and I sort of conciously think about how much I'm moving throughout the day. My energy level is up and my moods are better.

I'll never be Paris Hilton, and I don't want to be, but I sort of miss the definition of my hips and tits, you know?

Good luck with the body project and keep trying.

Some things about my health I can't change but exercise helps. I'm trying to work up to the amount of walking my 96 year old father used to do.

Lack of time is the major obstacle. He walked 14 miles every day until a few months before his death.

Best wishes for the reshaping.

Irritatingly Interesting

How difficult is it to just let someone have an opinion on their body?

I know I probably have one of the shortest tempers in the history of angry women, but really, it only flares up when my roommate puts me on that pedestal of love (I love you You're my best friend I can't live without you You are my secret desire) and tries to make me sound like Aphrodite. I am not perfect. I think I know my body to the point where I know that if I don't feel healthy, then dammit, I'm probably not healthy.

So I bought the Hydroxycut last week and it was a friggin task just to keep him from fishing it out of the grocery cart and putting it on the shelf. Dammit, it's my twenty dollars, and incidentally, it's my body. Imagine that.

Good luck, sweetie. I made some major improvements to my body in 06 and was really happy with the results. I've slipped a bit lately, but I'll never let it get back to where it was before. Not only is the weight loss important (I have bad knees & a bad back), the overall "healthifying" is good for us all. Eating better, drinking lots of water, staying active (even when you feel like laying around the house and eating bugles) all have wonderful effects on your life. I'm a PM away if you need anything (encouragement or a kick in the ass).

Good luck....:rose:

Yay for you! :nana: I need to turn my healthifying up a couple notches. It would boost my energy. Assifying would be nice, too.

Rock on!

Please keep up on your assifying...I'd hate to lose one of my inspirations for coming to the AH. :D

Way to go. I wish I could change my eating habbits (I hate most foods) and lose my stupid gut...

Congradulations on your achievement.

Keep up the good work!

For your upper arms, I would recommend pushups. If you have trouble getting airborne, try knee pushups, using you knees instead of your toes for lower support.

For your stomach, I recommend that you try lying on your back and simultaneously rasing your upper body and knees as if you were trying to touch your face with your knees.

Since you seem to have concern with your ass, try lunges. You stand, feet together and take a long stride forward, catching yourself with the lead leg. You then push off the lead leg and return to starting position. Repeat with the other leg. Once you get to the point where a lunge is no olonger a major effort, try them with a dumbbell in each hand.

You say: "I'll never be Paris Hilton, and I don't want to be" Is it the publically distibuted videotapes that bother you?

I hope it's because Paris is dog-ass ugly.

Or as disgustingly thin as twig...

Crunches are better for your abs than leg raises if you have a bad back (I have a bad back), as are knee pushups. Do the pushups before ab exercises. They work similar muscles, and the ab exercises will make the pushups harder to do ;)

What I like most about the reading here is that it sounds like the decision was Trini's and she is not doing it for someone else...but for herself.

That's key, love. Do it because YOU want to do it. Yours is the only opinion that really matters.

But I'm glad you don't want to be Paris Hilton...because that single-expressioned stick figure ain't half as sexy as you are...

I do pilates daily.

No, I have absolutely no problem with my ass. It's lovely and looks every bit the black girl I am not.
