I thought it was 'conservative' Xian spoilsports wanting to ban devil-worship, pushing 'autumn' or 'harvest' festivals. They've been working on that for years. (They even got old highway 666's road number changed because psychotic.)

I know they gain some feminist support to ban or at least discourage overly-sexy costumes. No, as usual, I didn't click that uTube link. But I doubt the Days of the Dead and the Saints will be suppressed anytime soon, by anyone. That would be bad for business.

Did you listen to the link? The beef of "Progressives" is the costumes are sometimes "cultural appropriation," which is one the most asinine ideas I have ever heard. But it's also true that some people bitch about costumes of devils or witches or etc. As far as I'm concerned, Halloween is strictly harmless fun.
