President Nixon's "war on drugs" is indescribably corrupt and fraudulent. Some people have been given decades-long prison sentences for possessing peanut-sized quantities of crack, cocaine, or heroin.

There is tantamount of evidence to point out that the US federal government, particularly the intelligence community, has been directly involved in the manufacturing, refining, distribution, and sale of narcotics for over 50 years, both domestically and abroad. The purposes behind this range from the social and economic repression of of certain ethnic groups, to the source of funding for the shadowy and mysterious "black budget."

The links below provide important information to help understand the corruption, ulterior agendas, and sheer criminality of the war on drugs.

Depends on how you look at it. It's a major victory for the government in restricting our liberties.

They tried restricting our civil rights with the war on drugs, but that was not nearly as successful as the equally fraudulent and dubious war on terrorism.

It's their masterpiece! And it's supported by all those who who would trade essential liberty for temporary safety. They deserve neither!

(I'm para phrasing Mr. Franklin poorly)

9/11 and the entire "war on terror" thing is highly questionable. It is certainly possible that rouge criminal elements of the federal government, military, and intelligence community were responsible for plotting and orchestrating 9/11 so they could exploit the incident for political and financial purposes -- mainly the subversion of individual rights and liberties in exchange for "security" as well as increasing the profits and market share of the armaments industry.

If drugs were legalized, it would cut out the drug traffickers and crime related to them would either diminish or disappear all together. Drug addicts might also be more likely to get help because they'd be easier to locate. There are a lot of arguments for legalizing drugs, just as there are arguments against.

The biggest and most powerful drug cartel in the entire world is the United States government.

They have their hands in almost 100% of the entire global drug trade. US military were ordered to guard the opium fields in Afghanistan because the CIA was going to harvest the raw materials necessary to produce heroin.

I like how you say it's indescribable, then go on to describe it.

You'll never get into community college with rhetorical skills like that.

You're not gonna end prohibition bitching about it on the interwebs.
