For those of you totally fixated on "Trumps Wall."

From my consideration a wall is of some value, but not an answer. Any wall can be breached, just a matter of time and effort. Further the notion of a wall along the entire Southern border is preposterous to say the least.

A wall is not without some value though when strategically implemented. A wall with embedded sensors will reduce the number of people that can breach the barrier at any given time. Sure, one or two might make it across, but not hoards.

Further a wall has value where it dosn't exist. It allows the Border Patrol to concentrate their manpower in those areas. And the lack of a wall will focus efforts to breach the border in those areas.

A wall is NOT an answer. It's a symbol of certain limited value. The answer is to criminalize (felony) anyone that hires an illegal to do anything.

The problem, to me, is that when you or I say employers, our brain trust as highlighted by some of the witty responses offered, goes straight to one of their main enemies on their big list of enemies, 'corporate America,' who other than a small subset of specific industries, don't hire the illegals. It's the elites, the upper middle-class, construction, mom and pops, etc. and this fixation makes it nearly impossible to have a rational conversation. It reminds me of how hard it is to get the idea across that big evil corporations only collect taxes; only people, consumers, pay taxes. But it feels so good to sock it to 'the rich.'

The need for the military is in response to the human wave that is overwhelming our border patrol and to bring their technologies and manpower to bear on the problem. MS-13 isn't the whole problem, only a small part of it.
