The only reason I think Daryl is still in the running is because killing him would have maximum impact and minimum consequence.

And Norman Reedus can (at least for the next year or two) write his own goddamn check. People were flipping out to buy a game called Silent Hills because he showed up at the very last second of a trailer FFS. So he makes a good choice.

But yeah all your facts line up, plus what we know from the comics.

I'm leaning twards Daryl because Norman Reedus sold his house in Atlanta, is getting a new show, and is about to do a 3rd boondock Saints movie. That being said the character is already wounded and I feel that might spoil some of Negans fun.

I doubt its Maggie, Carl, or Michonne sense Negan doesn't go after women and children. My second guess would be Abe.

That tiger amazing. I mean obvious CG is obvious but I've seen the side by side with Richard (life of Pi) and Shere Khan (the Jungle Book) and Shiva doesn't look bad compared to projects with much much larger budgets. Though the comparison to Khan may not be entirely fair since he's still partially anthropomorphized to give him some ability to emote so the "odd" is on purpose.

Now I would definitely after that initial shot have left him out of focus and away from everything as often as possible the same way the managed to keep Hershel behind shit whenever they could but they did a good job.

Also after twenty years and three even shittier sequels. Tremors 2 with "I am completely out of ammo." Is no longer the scariest line I have heard spoken.
