The Walking Dead

I just hate the "immortals". You can't claim that this is a show where anybody can die and then have a group of people we know good and damn well can't die.

Maybe....killing Rick would be impossible. But Glen, Maggie, Carol, etc. they are all suspect...it does keep you on edge, got to say

Killing Rick is outright impossible. It's HIS show. If you were gonna kill him the only real option was letting Shane off him in S2. After that it would be like replacing Jack Bauer (which was according to legend part of the plan originally. 24 was going to be about the format with a new hero each day. And Halloween wasn't supposed to be the Mike Myers series but Season of the Witch sucked and was eventually retconned to fit in with everything else.) just a non option.

Glen, Maggie, Carol are all suspect but even in the worst of circumstances it's hard to be afraid for them. They at worst only need to avoid high drama areas. Like if Maggie had died in the last episode that would have made sense. She isn't catching a random arrow to the eye though.

I'm frankly amazed Carl wasn't killed simply because the actor has no control over his hormones. And In Universe we're supposed to believe that less than 2 years have passed. (Remember S1-mid point of 3 are less than 9 months since it's heavily implied that Lori didn't know who's baby it was). S4-5 certainly look like a few weeks AT MOST. I know what he does in the comics but honestly I would have killed him and magically shunted his role off onto (Glen) some new kid for Rick to get attached to. Still you don't really worry about him.

Daryl is in the same ship though I'll admit I expected them to "kill" him last season. And by kill I mean magically lose so he could be on the Spin-off.

But I'm right there with you (and this goes double if your black) but seriously supporting cast is gonna die.

Let me take a quick moment out and state that T-Dogg dying while it started the trend made perfect sense in every sense of the word. He's an extra (though so is Daryl) and he's the epitome of a token character. He existed solely so nobody could say there are no blacks on the show. But is anybody expecting the Priest to make it much longer?

Everybody is. I'm temptd to ask one of the comic people if he's a long runner or something because I keep expecting him to die and then you know a doctor catches a random arrow.

Yea that kinda pissed me off a little....I mean I liked the character...not a ton but I did like her...what annoyed me more was it was a crossbow....you need direct line of sight...what Daryl and Rosita didn't see any movement from behind the doctor? And why does it seem like no one is careful anymore when out in the open??? Maybe I'm knit picking

I've never fired a crossbow to know it's range and they were distracted by the hissy fit Denise was throwing.

However and this was cleanly demonstrated in the middle of S3 or the beginning of S4 the survivors are at the point where they get real cocky real easily. Rememher Hershel had to give Rick an earful about going outside the fence without a gun and Rick essentially shrugged. Zombies are really only dangerous if they catch you off guard or have overwhelming numbers.

Additionally it's heavily implied that they are making regular runs without incident (probably to Hillside based on Eugene's line about why he wants to make bullets) and once something becomes routine you stop worrying about it. You start rolling through stop signs, or not looking both ways uber carefully before crossing the street. All kinds of shit.

He's still alive in the comics. He has a church in Alexandria.
He's pretty much like in the show.

Most people know Neegan kills Glen in the comics and they're waiting to see if it really happens in the show. Carol died a while back in the comics so honestly I expect her to be gone by next season sometime but they might keep her around.
That freaking baby died right away in the comics and she's still hanging on. Quietest baby in history, too.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. If Glen dies it's official. The best plan to survive the zombie apocalypse is to be a straight white male! That means Tara's next!

I jest. . .kinda.

Plus the kid doesnt seem to grow.... Carol is done, sad to say. She is a good character fo show

Daryl, apparently, is the eye-candy and used to attract the women viewers....therefore, I say, he stays for a while.......

The kid isn't supposed to be growing. We haven't had a truly solid time marker but the baby is supposed to be under a year old.

Not just the ladies. If Daryl dies we riot.

Add zombies and you have a soap opera for men and women.
I watch with my teenage boys.......

Zombies have been second fiddle since S3 with them very rarely presenting a true threat.

I'm nearing 100% certain that Glenn is going to die in the season finale. As an avid comic book fan, they've been following the comics almost to the T this season, and I'm afraid to say Glenn is going to be the first to go at the hands of Negan. And if they play it by the books, right in front of Maggie. Ouch.

I don't know where we're gonna go in the show once they beat Negan. Alexandria never falls. It ends up pretty much being the sanctuary they were looking for. Theres a weird time skip after they take down the saviors, and I highly doubt they would do that in the show. Who knows.

BTW if anyone wants to ask a comic reader something, by all means. I love talking about the comics and I literally know everything there is.

They kinda need a wierd time skip though. I mean as I've stated repeatedly CARL does not look 12! So magically jumping forward to however old the actor is would save them all a lot of heart ache.

Are they losing the red line, the charm of surprises the series had it at the beginning?
P.s. I haven't read the comics yet.

Debatable. I actually found a lot of those surprises from early on to be intolerably stupid and now they make fewer of those.

Oh, ok. I have grown to like Daryl, his greasy hair and all.....although he seems to have washed it this season.

I thought I read that something that after Negan, something even worse comes around....or maybe that was Negan?

Almost as in same events, but not shot for shot character outcomes.

In the comics ... Morgan is dead by now ... Abraham is dead by now ... Carol is dead by now ... there is no Daryl ... Rosita eventually dies (not till after Negan, but the show and the comics are two separate entities ... a 'what if' scenario).

I'm hoping for Glen ... in the TV show he's no longer likable.

I thought Negan and his gang were now dead so how can they do any more harm?

Nope. Those lying liars lied. Negan is John Winchester. Do you have any idea how hard it is to kill a goddamn Winchester? And have them stay dead?! (Course if you had to pick one John is the obvious choice.)
