The Walking Dead

Did some googling. I'm not finding this thing free. I'm finding issues 1, 49, and 98 I think but nothing that gives enough to really read it.

Merle was flying the helicopter in the beginning of the finale.

This was suggested on the latest episode of 'Talking Dead' but one of the exec. producers and a writer left it hanging for Season 3.

The actress who portrays Andrea hinted to her character becoming besties with the mysterious hooded gal who saved her life. The writer and producer looked at her like, uh, shut up. Said maybe she just wants to eat you. *smirk

As for the free comics... last week I googled and found a link to a vBulletin nerdy comic site and read (perused) the first issue in like 10 minutes. There were other links but after 20some pages I didn't pursue. So impressed with how the very first Walking Dead episode damn near mirrored the comic book. Now I keep reading how soooo much has been changed and adapted and reversed that it really makes no sense to read the comic books. New writers are in charge anymore so anything goes.

Ah. I sensed a change in writers, but then thought maybe the graphic novel bogged down and they were trying to stay true. Want them to keep it snappy.

Scroll through a Walking Dead marathon and tell me if you not only sense a change in writers, but see different writers nearly every episode.

A revolving door, eh? Never stuck around for the credits. There seemed a change in pace and tone, but I thought maybe it was true to the comic.

I was energized when I went to a site and saw that next seasons opener was comic #19 out of 80 or so. Hope AMC can keep it up no matter who is behind the words.

Sidebar: Loved how Star Trek allowed anyone to write a and script be a hero as long as they adhered to character standards...be cool if WD was the same.

The writers are listed during the opening credits of each episode.

Yeah, I like your energy for the next season! Fucking ass, DWade may have just saved this game against the Suns.

Holy shit was that surreal!

If you're actually interested in/want to support the series, why not buy them?

They're hardly expensive.

Try your library. Ours has the set as well as all types of other graphic novels.

They had commercials almost literally every 5 minutes. That kind of shit makes you start rooting for the zombies. And the end of the episode...come on. I will assume it gets better next week.

This thread has been on my front page for 5 months now. And it's not even that interesting.

They brought it up as a joke, with the host of that show stating boldly that was NOT the case and that it was a joke, Meryl was not flying the helicopter, as it was the same helicopter seen in "Days Gone By" when Rick is entering Atlanta (lucky woman, that Atlanta).

Andrea only said "I can't wait to have a new BFF" and there were no looks. You really read waaaay too much into things, especially since that character is already well known in the comics and the fact that she somewhat befriends Andrea is no secret.

The comics and the shows do diverge but usually come around to itself, so you may find some comfort in reading the comic but just don't take it as gospel.

Double post here but...The main writer for the entire series has been Robert Kirkman, the same guy that writes the comics. He has a staff, of course, but he and the director are the ones that control the flow and content of the show. The only noticeable change in tempo and style came when they fired Frank Darabont as director around mid season and placed in Mezzara whom is doing a fantastic job.

Walking Dead producer responds to fans' disdain for the Lori character...

http://screenrant.com/walking-dead-season-3-lori-annoying-aco-160358/

I think Lori has to be one of the most misunderstood characters there is in the series.

I've watched this series a lot with different types of new people and save for a few they all have a hard time not playing an armchair quarterback that uses hindsight and information the characters don't possess to judge both the show and other characters. Lori really suffers from this lack of involvement because people only see whats on the surface, make a judgement, and then feel like the character is stupid when she does something that goes against that judgement.

For example, her talk with Shane in "Judge, Jury, Executioner" was seen by most as leading Shane on or manipulating him when, least in my opinion, it was her finally being honest with herself and Shane about the entire situation. Never once in the entire series did she treat Shane fairly for what happened and so after Dale died she just came to her senses a bit and actually apologized for blaming him for everything that had happened. Of course, Shane was not in the right state of mind to hear these things but that's hardly Lori's fault as most see it.

Another example, in the series finale when Rick is talking to her about Shane and she gets obviously upset. 'The Talking Dead' actually addresses this and they say clearly that Lori is angry at herself because she realizes it was her that put these two at odds (both intentionally and not) but that she did care for Shane and didn't want to see him dead, or at least she didn't think it would go that far. And in typical Lori fashion, she's blaming Rick for it in the scene instead of herself which seems to be her M.O.

I personally don't like Lori that much but I hate it when people blame the characters or the writing for emotional situations they simply don't understand. If subtext and reading between the lines isn't your thing, then this isn't your show.
