The Walking Dead

What I want to know is if Daryl & Carol are gonna hook up.
And did she want him to hit her last night?

I think they're falling in love. At least, that's what I want to happen.

And I think she expected him to hit her. I think she was trying to show him that he couldn't push her away, though allowing him to hit her would have been a fucked up way of getting her point across.

I think their friendship, or whatever one would call it, is one of the most interesting aspects of the show this season.

I can't get enough of it.

The guy that plays Shane is leaving the show, he gets killed off next episode (ep 10.)

He'll get killed off when I say so and it won't be during the next episode. That's far too early.

Any of you record 'Talking Dead' last night? Just watched and the Glen character (ShortRound) was the guest and boy was he cute. Learned that the title of the show (The Walking Dead) refers to the living survivors and not the zombies.

Good show with nice discussions plus fan emails. One about whether or not Shane will be freaked when he finds out that Herschel can shoot that well without even blinking. What Herschel's background really is. What a manipulative bitch Lori is. The look on Rick's face with the arched right eyebrow at the end. How Sophia's death was the turning point for them all to either be all moral or gritty like Shane w/ Otis.

Next week they'll have the actor who portrays Herschel as the main guest.

New viewers to the show probably have no idea how verbally/physically abusive her husband was for her to just stand there like it was nada. Last season I wondered why she was so blase about Sophia being missing at times... then it occurred to me that maybe she was simply dead inside. I admit, I don't like her haircut nor her demeanor but I bet hot, angry, foul and animalistic sex with Daryl after all this time would snap her back to life some.

Wait! Is there a new season going on right now?? Crap, I've been missing it.

What? How did I miss this thread?

KRC? Cheebs? No heads up? Not that I expect ya'll to...well, there is a cheap joke there, but I have discipline.

Anyway, as we have established in another thread the show needs to get some juice going. I understand following the GN and following humanity, but if you start strong you better stay strong.

Tell your joke... I can take it.

What other thread? The one Killswitch made in here or one in one of them thare cheapass Lit ripoff forums?

I feel bad for the character T-Dog, he seems to have slipped into a minor role, when he had a much bigger role in the first season. Now it just seems they use him to notice stuff.

"Who the hell is that?" referrring to the kid they save in the last episode.

"Oh my God." referring to Rick and Hershel leading the zombies out of the woods to the barn.

I'm not saying you're wrong (it's obvious this postapocalyptic world ain't big enough for the both of them any more), but it would be pretty goddamn incompetent to schedule a game-changer like that opposite the Academy Awards.

What I am hoping, based on the AMC pedigree if nothing else, is that the slowness of these early episodes is going to have a big payoff (and "payoff" in this context doesn't necessarily mean zombies going apeshit, but something besides the same old arguments). There have been several Mad Men and Breaking Bad seasons where apparently mediocre early episodes took on new resonance late in the season. But there's little time left for that now, just 4 weeks.

A show like this needs to walk a tightrope: you can't be afraid to kill off characters, because you need to periodically drive home the point that it's dangerous out there; but you can't kill off too many because identification with characters is key to keeping an audience.

If they're not thinking of getting rid of Lori, they should. She's a major character that hardly anyone likes.

I liked Dale more at first, but he's begun to get on my nerves. Moral compass, my ass, he should be the wise old guy that sees the need to kill, well, uh, if zombies are already dead, what is the correct term for 'killing' them? I mean you can't kill what is dead, so what do you call it when you destroy the brain and 'kill' them. Help me out here. I need a good word to accurately describe 'killing' a zombie.

Not surprisingly it is a dick joke. I'll keep it in my pants for now as the moment has passed.

I forget which other thread...something that meandered...maybe on cable shows ore something, but it was a non-epic thread here.

...

That would be interesting. She's more annoying now than anything else. Also, hard not to think about anorexia looking at her.

The thing is you can't kill Lori. She's a fully functional immortal I garantee it if for no other reason than they HAVE to kill Carl at some point next season or possible the next unless they are going to do a time skip. You figure since Shane met up with the group about how long has passed? I got the impression that all of Season one (after the meet up, there's no real measure of how long it took Shane to catch up.) But you figure six episodes and at least two of them are the same day? Same here they've been looking for Sophia for three days not three weeks. The actor who plays Carl however is probably not Gary Coleman and will infact no longer be a convincing seven year old next year when he turns thirteen. Killing BOTH Lori and Carl would just be too crushing for Shane and it's his damn show. He can't die either. Don't get me wrong her dead by zombie would fill me with bliss. It just isn't in the cards.

That also means whether by miscarriage or zombie I promise you that the baby, whomever it belongs to is gonna have a very short, possibly very violent death.
