Is there any way to see how people are voting on your stories, instead of just the statistic? We would like to see the "curve" of how readers are voting on our stories.

Thanks!

Not that I know of, short of camping out the score page and hitting 'refresh' so you can figure out the individual votes as they come in.

I am really bad at math, but would a realistic variant of this be to make note of the score and the number of votes once each day (or so). You would then at least know "well, today, those 13 new votes must have been heavily weighted toward ___."

If you worked out what the formula was to deduce that, you could set it up in an Excel spreadsheet and it could be a very fast operation just to get a little update.

Does that make any sense?

The first three days on the new story list will be the largest vote days. After that it will fall off drastically unless you hit the top list and then there is the troll factor from fans of stories already on that list.

Yeah, it's pretty straightforward: multiply average score by total # of votes to figure out the total of the votes at any given time, then take the difference between one time and the next to get the total value of votes in the meantime. (Though past about 100 votes, rounding starts to make things difficult.)

I'm not obsessed enough to go through that and once you start piling up stories, it would be a project and a half to do it with all of them.

I'm more interested in looking at the numbers of times a story has been favorited and last year the site made it so you can see that at the bottom of the story page.

Yeah, it's also nice how you can see total unique views, helps to find the nuggets, and to weed out the trash.

What's that? Your story is a 4.90 with 30 comments and 29 votes, but only 900 views?
