Sitting on his balcony of 40 flights up, Tom watched the neighboring buildings as dusk fell in Manhattan. He twirled a slightly chilled white wine in one hand as he wound down the work week without any plans for the weekend.
Tom could hear his cell buzz in the other room but easily ignored the draw. He had promised this weekend to his own desires and letting the cyber/social media slide away. And he always kept his promises, especially those made to himself.
As the light of the day dimmed he was intrigued by lights coming on in the array of windows opposite his advantage point. Another short while and he might splurge a bit and break out his binoculars and do some viewing where possible.
Refilling his gas from the bottle at his chair side, he wondered if others within sight had similar thoughts.....
