Three days ago, President Obama signed into law the $611 billion 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA); deep within the bowels of this legislation that funds America's military spending next year was quietly inserted this socialist gem: the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act, wherein:

...the U.S. Congress would ask the United States Secretary of State to collaborate with the United States Secretary of Defense and other relevant Federal agencies to create a Global Engagement Center to fight against propaganda from foreign governments, and publicize the nature of ongoing foreign propaganda and disinformation operations against the U.S. and other countries. The bill said this inter-agency effort should: "counter foreign propaganda and disinformation directed against United States national security interests and proactively advance fact-based narratives that support United States allies and interests."

Isn't it a coincidence that the past month and a half have brought us endless leaks from The Washington Post and The New York Times - both of which are known to have passed US government disinformation onto the American public in the past - of a "secret" US government assessment accusing a foreign government of deliberately introducing information into the election, and then literally immediately following that the proclamation of "fake-news" pervading America's information sphere and what a danger that represents...

While the US Congress has been quieting creating a Ministry of Truth to attack all that, with the full omnipotent power of the federal government to rule what is "fact-based" and what is not, and to - as Leviathan is infamously known to do - act against all "propaganda" and "disinformation" with its full might.

Yep, folks, we've finally reached the point so many have been warning about all along: you continue to allow government to keep grabbing all the power it wants and one day it will not only proclaim it has the ultimate power - to dictate what truth is itself - but that it will henceforth enforce what it commands is "truth" with all that omnipotent power you've allowed it to tyrannically grab.

The good news is that once government deems itself as the definer of all truth, and considering the public's abetting it in it reaching that omnipotent plateau, there's no tyrannically higher government can go. Sure, it can go more and more draconian, but, really, from here on out it's only going to be about how long the tyrants can stay atop this communist peak they've now fully ascended to.

Literally, for them, and so deservedly so, it's all downhill from here.

I don't hold any hope at the present that Trump will actively backtrack from the despicable point the US government has now fully scaled to, but let history record it was under President Barrack Hussein Obama's determined, socialist leadership that America was driven to such a repugnant-to-individual liberty peak.

You don't hold any hope Trump will clean this mess up? None? I think there's about a 2 to 1 chance he will scale some of this back. The neo-cons in Congress may keep funding this stuff though either way.

We also need to get rid of the N.E.D., a US government funded agency designed to "spread democracy" throughout the world. The N.E.D. was the driving force behind the color revolutions over the past few years that have done so much good (sarcasm). N.E.D. meddling is what pissed Russia off and started the current spiral of bad relations with them.

Are you familiar with Trump's comments about digital surveillance of Americans for the cause of "security" and his promises to increase military funding?

Have you ever heard Trump speak directly to the fundamental political issue of American individual liberty? If you have, could you share that link?

Wait? You think this wasn't OBama doing what he should have been doing for the last two months and being Trump's advance party?!

The Congress that couldn't get a damn thing done at all for the last six years magically manages to pass a bill while under Republican control and we're . . .yeah whatever.
