The US has designated Hamas as a terrorist group. The US funds VOA, yet, this can happen, how?

VOA is funded by the U.S. Government through the U.S. Agency for Global Media. The Voice of America began broadcasting in 1942 to combat Nazi propaganda with accurate and unbiased news and information. Ever since then, VOA has served the world with a consistent message of truth, hope and inspiration.

I don't remember all of the details now, but VOA took a turn when the Orange Demon made some appointments.

That said, not using a certain term really isn't that much of an issue.

Selective Standards​

Importantly, VOA’s standard is selective. VOA had no problem labeling al-Qaeda or the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) “terrorists.” Yet Hamas, a similar Islamist movement, is given a pass. There is little difference between the groups. Indeed, proportionally to each country’s population, the Oct. 7 massacre led to more casualties than the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attack by al-Qaeda. The only difference is that Hamas’ primary focus is on destroying Israel, though the group has murdered dozens of Americans throughout the years.

So the questions remain, why doesnt the funding group, namely the US, enforce the term and why did VOA call al Qaeda and ISIS a terror group? Is the answer so obvious?
