The Un-Isolated Un-Blurt Thread

Hi Twinkie Ltns. How've you been? Dad?

I'm just getting over pneumonia and my dad isn't getting better. He's in a wheel chair now but I did get him back into therapy to see if he could get walking again.

It's just not looking too well for him these days. He's a fighter so, maybe things will get better.

Sorry to hear about the pneumonia. :(

I have found with the very old there is no "recovery" as far as them being back to the way they were before event X happened. The older they are the more difficult it is to recover from a major health event like a fall for example.

Yeah. There's not much any of us can do but keep him safe and comfortable.

Still fucking sucks. :(

I have two cats. The female (pursnickety bitch face) is over 3 years old, and I adopted a little male (snuggle buddy sweetheart) a few months ago.

Today he got snipped, and while I waited for him to be released (got there 45 mins early) I entertained myself with the gifs in this here thread.

Thanks, it felt like time flew by, and I was making other owners in the lobby giggle because I was laughing like a maniac.

This one slayed me:

Just saved it to my PC!!

Ok, after a long boring chat, I have my dad set up to see a counselor. Finally got that twit of a director to notice that my dad CANNOT live on his own. She's such a fucking idiot. It's obvious to anyone with eye balls and a working brain our dad cannot live by himself.

My dad is doing alright. It's so hard these days. Wishing things weren't like this. Wishing he'd come to my apartment begging to go out to eat. Wishing so many things were different. *le sighs*

At least I'm still able to enjoy our times together. :rose:

I know :( I am glad you can still enjoy your time together. Can you guys do take out from your favorite places?

Well, if I can ever remember to, I'm hoping to take him out to eat on the 1st. I'm sure he'll be thrilled about that.

He does have a neurological visit on the 24th so, I'm thinking about bringing him a sub for that day as a treat.

Yeps, it's peppermints, cheese crackers with peanut butter and subs. Italian subs. I guess when you don't have much going for you....food is all you can control.
It makes me smile when he asks for food. It's very much his character, he loves food and always will.

And yes, the place he lives now serves food. It's just not gourmet food. Not spicy and not much flavor. I tried their 'chili' and it so lacked flavor and zest.
Maybe I should start cooking for him. My dad would LOVE that. :)

Well, if you were fed bland food everyday, you'd want variety. I'll have to see what I can do. Not sure I can do hot foods but maybe things you can sure cold.

Sometimes, it's who it's from, not what it is, that makes something amazing.

Today my dad saw the neurologist and it's been confirmed he has dementia. We knew this but to have it confirmed by a specialist is still sad.

He had fun getting out for awhile. I brought him a sub for lunch which I'm sure he enjoyed.
