The UK's Bad Girls

I haven't heard that one before. Darn my rotten luck, I have a computer that's so old, it won't play the stuff on youtube.

:(

Yes it's crap, nothing like OZ.

There has never been anything on television like OZ : THE SERIES and there never will be again. I strongly dislike CHRISTOPHER MELONI'S character on LAW & ORDER : SVU and I hate watching a show about chicks being either evil bitches or victims, sometimes both. OZ was cool.
The only shows I watch these days are SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL, STARGATE and DEXTER.

I must say that the clip from the show did not impress me at all.

I watch Stargate (mainly just SG1), Battlestar Galactica, 30 Rock (new), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (new), The office, and old episodes of Scrubs from when it was good. OZ was on HBO long before I got it, and I haven't had much of a desire to watch it on demand or borrow DVDs of it.

Smallville just pisses me off with it's 2dimensional characters, bad plots, the characters never looked remotely like highschoolers, and super-man wears make-up and lipstick which is all the more obvious by the pure bright and sunny nature of California which looks barely like Kansas. Kansas = wheat and prairy. (as sad as it is that I know this, corn does not grow that well in Kansas)

*cries* I don't have regular tv or cable so I'm missing the new season of Battlestar Galactica.

lol...scifi buff.

Never watched Smallville and never will. Reason being? I HATE Superman.

How can you hate Superman ? I love the guy ! I once wanted to be Wonder Woman and marry him, so we'd have super-babies ( the musings of a tomboy who grew up with three comic book-addicted older brothers) and rule the world !

I know, it sounds weird. I loved Wonder Woman as a kid and wanted to be her. However, I have never liked Superman at all. To me, there was something lacking and I could never find any type of affection for him.

Now Batman...he's my favorite male superhero. *grins* There's the added bonus that he has and CAN kick Superman's caped butt and is the only one who could kill him if he needed to. Kent knows it too and it helps keep his feet on the ground.

I'm totally with you on the Batman thing. Superman is far too much of a goody-goody. And that hair-style? Way too clean-cut.

Batman is just so much cooler. And he has his own "-mobile" and everything!

Heard of it and saw part of it a long time ago.... i couldn't stand to watch... so painful.

Dexter is great so far. I still watch The Wire. Interesting direction this season... i'm still not sure about it. I do enjoy the lesbian character, but wish she would get more air time.

Please read "Dark Knight Kicks Back" made by Frank Miller (he is fucking incredible in my mind anyway) there wonderwoman has gotten a cool Amazon Super baby with superman :)

Ok, I just love most of Frank Millers work when it comes to DC and Marvel comics. He is one of those people, who doesn´t stand down, untill somebody shoots him. Since he writes, draws in his way, and that means, the firms needs to put an age sticker on some of the comics he has made (not in Denmark, but that is a complete different story about cultures, and stuff) . Because if a person in his stories says shit. Then the person says shit instead of "S@#$" as an example. Sadly, they ruined the Daredevil movie to no end. And they had great material to begin with from Frank Miller. Sad sad sad. Well anyway , sorry for going offtopic :) back to your discussion.

Miller is one of the GODS when it comes to comics. Any of his Batman stuff I see, I usually check out. He always manages to capture the essence..no matter what he writes.

What I love about Batman is that he's more down to earth. No super powers, just a highly trained mind and body. It doesn't hurt that he's got the BEST villians too.

Usually, I find myself yawning through Superman stories. Same thing..crash and smash.

Night_Jasmine: have you read the Daredevil comics he made ? I read them in Danish, and damn wow, those black, and white drawings (in the Danish version anyway) were awesome :)

And have you read Wolverine by Frank Miller ? That comic is great too ! :)

works of Frank Miller I can remember he has shined through is. in no alphabetic order.

Daredevil

Batman Year One
Batman Darknight Returns
Batman Darknight Kicks Back

And then I can remember his Wolverine. Damn Frank Miller is awesome, and he revives anything he touches. Just look at Batman.... he revived Batman as a real MEAN motherfucker !

(afterwards some Batman comics were very dark like Millers)

Daredevil was revived like nothing I have ever seen. Daredevil wasn´t the jolly old frolick anymore. he got a real personality, and lots of cool stuff happened.

Wolverine was just great seeing, through Millers hands.

I've read Wolverine and all of the Batman ones. That's where I fell in love with his writing stuff.

The DD ones I am told are hard to find in the US.

For those of you who are Frank Miller fans, ever read his Martha Washington series? Amazingly prescient, considering the current situation in the U.S., and he started it in 1995. I also love the whole Sin City series - know some people find it sexist, but I love the idea of men sacrificing themselves for women to advance the plot, vs. the other way around.

On another note, has anyone else been following DC Comics' new Batwoman series?

Re: television - almost never watch it anymore so dropped all but very basic cable (can't get decent reception in San Francisco without it). Primarily watch C-Span, 60 minutes, and Veronica Mars. Really miss Battlestar Galactica and all of the HBO original series, particularly the Wire and the last season of Deadwood... :(

Sin City was interesting..gritty and definitely strange. I haven't seen the series you're talking about though.

Frank Miller, Garth Ennis, Brian Michael Bendis, Orson Scott Card, and Joss Whedon are some of my favorites who do comics. Orson has done a hell of a lot of good books, and I loved his Ultimate Iron Man. Joss has done some damn fine T.V. work. I was sad when Joss Whedon didn't do X-men 3 because he was doing Serenity, but Serenity was awesome.

God, I swear women who love comics are (in my general experience) just the type of people to be on this board hehe. I find it hilarious how guy geeks are known to be so unwantingly virginal due to being geeks, but us women get to be the sex cats.

As far as superman, the guy just has it too damn easy, and then there's the "he's guaranteed to blow his load like a shotgun through her back" (thank you Mallrats) thing. WonderWoman and her lasso has possiblities, but I guarantee her thighs would be like a titanium vice on your head when she gets her O. I feel like watching Mallrats. Too bad I lost my DVD.
