I thought of an anthology idea that I thought would be fun to explore.
In the near future, two decisions come down: employers and government agencies may no longer discriminate against someone who worked/works in the sex industry...and prostitution is legal in all 50 states.
At first, not much changes. People are more open about using escorts and brothels start advertising more deliberately but a lot of the old stigmas remain. Additionally, lots of regulations are put in place that make it difficult for just anyone to become a prostitute or hire one.
However, an almost overnight change occurs when some clever entrepreneurs come up with a couple of apps and plug in devices for your average smart phone or tablet that allow anyone to get registered and follow the necessary safety guidelines. Essentially, johns and prostitutes need to have quarterly check-ups registers with the system and a fresh condom has to be scanned prior to sex (haven't quite figured how to get around people cheating that part) if the John is male. There's also an additional attachment which can do basic VD testing.
People scoff at first but the marketing blitz kills it. They sell the idea of 'casual sex for the casual person' and the ease of the program. Soon you have celebrities trying to create a buzz by having their profile go live for an hour or two, during which time, they must take any registered member who is in good standing. Then you start having people register who need help making ends meet, then you have people casually using the program either to hook up for the night or to make some quick money.
So the stories would develop from what happens when the app becomes accepted by the majority of the population. Do you suddenly have booster clubs registering and going live to raise funds? Do you have university students going live on a Friday night to get their drinking on Saturday paid for? Do you have New Jersey citizens paying their family members for the privilege? What about the clients? Do you suddenly see the neighborhood sweetheart hiring her old Sunday school teacher to pound her in the ass? Do you have cheerleaders hiring dorky guys, claiming they just want to practice for their boyfriends...when they actually prefer having lovers who are eager to please?
I figured for the set up, clients could register at the age of 18 or 21 while the escorts could start at 21 or 25.
