The Two Stone Tablets

Has it not occurred to anyone that this is plagiarism? You don't copy and sell the work of someone else.

When I read the old Testament with my girlfriend in my early twenties, we came across the third tablet and its additional five commandments. We also noted when they were replaced, there were only two. We always wondered what the five missing commandments were and laughed about it for years, like: Thou Shalt NOT run on escalators! It stilll is a favorite running joke.
What do you think should be on the missing tablet, huh?

No it didn't occur, because it is derivative art, not plagiarism, and thus is perfectly OK. It also isn't formally registered anywhere as belonging to anyone in particular, so there is no right/privilege established to infringe.

Not to be too harsh on the idea, but I never realized that Jews have religious kitsch too!
Which begs the question: What could Jews display in half-buried bathtubs in their front yard? Their religion needs a goddess-figure to compete.

XII. Thou shall not vote for Proposition 8
XIII. If thou aren’t at least Bi, ask theeself why?
XIV. Martha Stewart is Satan.
XV. Thou shall not covet bigger boobs Safe_Bet.

Signed,

God

P.S. The first ten were a joke. Pretty funny, huh?

Safe Bet,

I am with you on XI and XII. You are right about XIII and now I am asking myself why. XVI - Poor Martha! Such a sap to end up with that lousy job! XV- I have that one covered very nicely, thanks.

How about: Thou Shalt NOT swim until an hour after you have eaten? Anyone remember that one!

Ha! That's what you think. The Ten Commandments on stone tablets is registered to Yahweh, and just because that registration is located in the heavens doesn't mean it's not valid. I'll bet the originals have a copywrite symbol.

I'm with R.R. Plagiarism.

You'll fry in hell for that, you know. It's YHWH to you human peasants.

(I wonder if they have a copyright symbol as well.)

Well, let's hope HE doesn't show back up. Timothy Leary called Jehovah "a macho condominium owner" for good reason!

XI. Don't get caught.

Speaking of money, it occurs to me that $8500 would buy a lot of loaves and fishes to feed hungry multitudes.

Rumple Foreskin

Somehow, if God cut the stone, I see no reason to believe that it would be anything but finely polished and exquisitely lettered. Why rough-hewn, for Pete's sake? This is the Almighty he's talking about.

Hmmm . . . perhaps God was a early Post-Modernist.

Good thing he wasn't a Cubist!
