Anyone watch the first episode besides me?

I have to admit I was impressed.

At first I was rather doubtful that the casting of Jonathon Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII was a good choice, but what a wonderful young Henry he is. He is a king to the core.

Sam Neill as Cardinal Wolsey is suitably evil and conniving, and the rest of the cast is just as wonderful, except for Katherine of Aragon, who is portrayed as almost middle-aged (and so mealy-mouthed I wanted to slap her). The sets, costumes, etc., are equally impressive.

This is definitely one I'll be watching.

Damn, I keep missing it, and it's a very interesting show from the previews. Now I really must see it.

Thanks, love. Glad to see some advance input, so I know what to expect.

I think that I can get Alexis to watch, too, once she learns that Rhys-Meyers is in it. She has a serious fan crush on him. Keeps telling me that I resemble him, but that is probably just a lover's bias.

The first episode airs again tomorrow night at 10 and 11 pm eastern time. I just may have to watch it again.

At the risk of sounding too British, oh, bloody hell! Bad timing for me.

Thanks for posting that...to the DVR I go! :D

Edit: Ooops...don't get Showtime. I guess I'm with Dar.

no self-respecting lezbean would not have showtime or access to it for the L word. Now that the L word season is over, i have something to replace it with...
i missed the opening to it but it was easy to jump into. very cool and ill be watching every week. curious to see how they handle ann boleyn's extra digits or if they will.

very cool and i reccomend as well.

I liked it. I didn't feel totally hooked last night, but it may be because showtime has been promoting the fuck out of the opening and I was way sick of hearing about it by then. A similar show is out on another channel, but it's revolving around the Roman empire. It was riveting. I caught it on accident and am thinking it was an HBO production, but I didn't look into it. I'm hoping the Tudors captures my attention as well.

There's a trailer to watch from the link in my first post that uses an Evanescence song - its well worth the watch. It's a haunting song and captures the atmosphere well.

You can watch some on the website, too.

I wish I could sit still long enough to be entertained. These days, if it's not interactive, the ADD takes over. If it's interactive, then :catroar:

Gabrielle Anwar makes my pants feel funny.

And since she was in "the Three Musketeers" I am now calling myself Porthos the Pirate for the day.

And the Czarina of Brazil gave me this coffee mug.
