Anyone watch the first episode besides me?
I have to admit I was impressed.
At first I was rather doubtful that the casting of Jonathon Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII was a good choice, but what a wonderful young Henry he is. He is a king to the core.
Sam Neill as Cardinal Wolsey is suitably evil and conniving, and the rest of the cast is just as wonderful, except for Katherine of Aragon, who is portrayed as almost middle-aged (and so mealy-mouthed I wanted to slap her). The sets, costumes, etc., are equally impressive.
This is definitely one I'll be watching.
