The problem today is the word truth is no longer universal, its "your truth" and "They're truth" and there is no give on either side.

Truth is as dead of a value as it is a word.

The simple FACT is, Republicans have ceased arguing "facts" for almost a decade. Nowadays they argue the "truth", a subjective value where religious beliefs are given equal weight to counter facts (which have a well-known librul bias).

In Orwell's mythical land of Oceana, the unwitting seer describes life under the indoctrination of Big Brother, the people lived in a state of constant surveillance and control. Their lives were meticulously monitored by an omnipresent regime that dictated every aspect of their existence. Freedom of thought and expression was suppressed, with Big Brother's propaganda permeating every facet of society, shaping beliefs and behaviors from childhood. Dissent was ruthlessly punished, and even private thoughts were not safe from scrutiny. In Orwell's Oceana, individuality was a distant memory, overshadowed by a pervasive sense of fear and obedience, as the people toiled in a world where Big Brother's gaze was inescapable and absolute. Orwell died ignorant of how close he came to describing the world we find ourselves in today.

It’s Oceania, and Orwell didn’t die ignorant of how close. The book was a prediction and a warning.
