You've got to admire their sheer brazenness, though. I mean, when he was alive and for 20 years or so afterward, they insisted he was a communist. The moment that ran out of gas politically, they switched gears seamlessly to "he would have been on our side".

all they know of him is that one big speech and all the conveniently sanitized and sanctified images of him that makes him the immediate safety go-to Black icon in their minds.
