This is really disgusting. My wife has talked of much the same thing, except she is a naturalized citizen, and was one before we got married. We discussed a trip back to her native Philippines, which would require renewing our passports, but now we probably won't do it.

ETA: There was a movie about the situation. It's name was "Born in East LA" or something like that, and it was about a man of Hispanic descent, who was born in Los Angeles, went to Mexico on a visit and couldn't get back into the USA.

Hawaii's records office was deemed corrupt after they produced Obama's birth certificate, at Trump's demand. Nobody's citizenship is safe from such accusations, regardless of ethnicity, witnesses of birth, or residence in a border state.
