Allyn Shade:

Crouching next to an old and rusted car, Allyn watched several armed men march past. He was out on a gas run, not the easiest thing to do nowadays, with things as they are. But he mannaged to get two five gallon gas tanks filled. It had been a close call this time though, the New Nation's troops had almost spotted him... With a quiet sigh, he stood back up and lifted the tanks and started back for his tribe's hide out. Within a half hour, he was back. "Ello Honey, I'm ho-ome!" He called out as he slipped in the hidden entrance.

Roberto:
Security guard

Whipping the heavy machine gun around, I listen to the dull thumping footsteps nearing the main entrance. From inside, an obvious door moves slowly to the side, casting a shadow into the dark room. The silhouette moves forward out of the blinding sunlight and the portal slides back into place.

"Halt! Who goes there?" A bright spotlight illuminates the guest. "Oh, Shady, how ya doin'?" The spotlight's harsh light winks out and other movie-theater style lights cast ghostly shadows around the entrance room. "Ah good, ya got da boss some petrol. E'd better be pleased. Maybe da generator will last a few more days wit' da new supply."

Lilly stood quietly and looked over the grasslands that covered the five miles between the forest where she lived, and the city that housed the new, and growing, New Order. She had heard the stories, felt the fears of her peoples, and of late, seen many strange, and confusing things in her dreams. Her tribe was a quiet one, spending it's time farming food, and improving their way of living in a earthly manner. As quiet as they were, if this new order was to simply try and absorb the people of the Western Woods, they had another thing comming.

Behind her, she heard a giggle, and turned to smile upon the Kitt, the first child to be borne to the tribe, but certainly not that last. This was a good way of life, that she and her people had built, and she would do what was needed to keep it good. Turning, she collected the toddler into her arms, and went looking for the childs mother.

Allyn:

"Robby, I wish it were enough to power the tribemasters car any more than this cursed cities length... But it is not..." Allyn sighed as he showed the two tanks of five gallons. What would remain after feeding the hideout's generators for a single month were paltry at best, fumes, his father had called them... He wanted to spit! How could things have come to this? He had always been for his families ideals, but now... In this time... He simply could not hold with them, it was clear that who he served, like a knight would, his leige, not even blood could deter... Allyn just prayed his 'sin' could be forgiven...

There was something he had to tell his lady, the leader of the tribe though, he had seen something amasing to him... A clan, another tribe, harvesting crops... For nearly a half hour he had wached the marvelous sight, these other people making life from the very ground! It excited him, in a terrifying way... He'd read what he had heard called the holy writ, how earthy things led to death, and murder, and... The mark... It made him shiver, but seeing it, how could such a thing lead to that? He pondered as he took the gas he had harvested back to the hide out, how was he any more innocent than the earth tillers? He was taking, what he had learned to be the remains of ancient beasts home, how better was he, than these people who made the earth bring forth something new? "Surely, they are better than me, for bringing new life, not this stagnent, refuse..." He breathed, in amasment as he came into the tribeleader's chambers. "By all the gods! My brother is a FOOL!" He nearly shouted, remembering himself before it was too late, his voice falling to a whisper as he spoke to the tribe leader. "I found another tribe today, they till the earth... I believe they have the answer, my lady..." He breathed as he came up behind her, resting a hand upon her shoulder, wanting to turn her about, to look in her eyes, but knowing she would strike him for such an act, he only touched her... He sighed... Her shoulder... "So smooth.." An animal urge struck his mind... "So soft..." He was speaking, to his surprise, these last two words... Sucking in a breath, in surprise at what he, himself had uttered, he awaited the rebuking strike of his tride's leader's hand....

Walked quetly up the street his ehavey trench coat swinging swinging lightly at the bottem. He heard foot steps ahead and slid a hand into one of the many pocket. his hand rested on a pistol one that he had managed to get off the tribe before he "took his leave". The men we're armed and in uniforms he guessed they we're of the "New Nation" He saw a flirting shadow behind a rusted old car. The men hopefully hadn't spotted him yet he prayed they we'ren't paying much attention to himself. He ducked into an alley way and waited among the shadow's for the men to pass. When they did he waited untill there fottsteps could not be heard. He breathed a silent sigh of releif as he stepped out and headed to the car seeing some footsteps in the dust he tried as best as he could to follow them.

"Till the earth?" Sidonie repeated quietly. "But to bring life from the unforgiving soil... Is it truely possible?"

She felt the hand of Allyn gently rest upon her shoulder. For a moment his fingers curled, as if he wished to turn her, but he withdrew the action. Nearly she turned to strike him for the contact; she was a person who required personal space...her past demanded it. It was only knowing who it was that forced the touch upon her that kept her hand from flying.

It was what came next in Sidonie's own silence that threw her off guard. "So soft..."

She was unsure of how to respond. Being the tribe leader, she was expected to have strong actions, especially to those that acted or spoke 'inappropriately' to her. Were anyone in the room, she would be expected to strike the boy for his words.

But Sidonie didn't care to harm Allyn for what she took as an idle compliment. She tried to pretend that she did not hear his words, turning slowly to look into his eyes and continue her earlier statement.

"This tribe that cultivates the ground... Where is it that you saw them?" she spoke as gently as she could, to show Allyn she had not intention of striking him.

Allyn:

Swallowing as he lowered his eyes, Allyn explained. "It was a five mile wide expance of grass land, hidden by forest, between here and the Nation's gas depot. There is another tribe that works that land... I did not show myself to them though... I... I would leave that to you, my lady..." He paused for a good moment as he lifted his eyes. "May I suggest you go to them, and give formal greeting? It has been so very long since we have engaged another tribe... If we could gain their support, we may finally be able to form a stand against My..." Allyn went silent for a moment, looking about nervously. "Against the New Nation..."

"You are right," Sidonie spoke. "But perhaps you should come along."

She felt no need to explain her request of the boy, moving suddenly away from him to gather some items she wished to bring along.

"It would seem they would be a useful ally..."

Allyn:

"Are you certain, my lady, should you not take your body guard with you as well? We still do not know how receptive this new tribe will be..." Allyn suggested farther as he stood where he was, watching Sidonie gather her things for the impending trip.

"You may stay here if you wish," she replied. "I am not ordering you to come along."

She slung a simple bag over her back. "I will return shortly. If you are staying here, keep eveyone in line for me."

With that, she disappeared from the room, making her way outside of their hideout.

Allyn:

"Now wait a minute!" Allyn said in surprise as he rushed after Sidonie. "I didn't say I wasn't coming with you! Just that I feel you should have your body guard with you is all! I'm simply worried for your safty is all..." He said, the consern showing in his eyes.

Sidonie gave a slight smile to her companion, walking at a calm pace.

"So good of you to join me, in that case. Would you lead the way?"

Allyn:

Biting his lower lip, he took the lead. He never liked it when Sidonie took risks like this, but knew full well, the futility of pressing the issue... So, within a matter of minutes, they were outside of the hide out and heading toward the location of this hidden tribe...

Rune watches the entrance to their compound, one steel toe black boot sole against the wall he's leaning against. As they exit and walk past, he falls in line behind them. His white hair and brown trenchcoat float behind him as he strides purposefully, as he usually does.

He follows silently, head down but his eyes wandering over the path ahead. With a familiar gesture, done without thought, he slips one arm behind his back to check that his weapon is clear in its scabbard.

After a moment his clear but soft voice is heard behind her.

"Going somewhere without me Lady Sidonie?"

"I did not think I would need your assistance for this," she replied cooly. "But if you wish to come, you may. However, once I approach the tribe, I wish to be alone. The two of you must wait outside for me."

Allyn:

With a nod, Allyn lowered his gaze. "I understand my lady..." He said quietly as he continued to guide them on.

Nodding to himself although she can't see him, he says "That is the nature of my assistance Sidonie, you never know when you'll be in need of it. And, you know as well as I do that things have been tense and dangerous lately. You should not without protection."

He wasn't trying to be difficult. He cared about her, about what she stood for. The Tribe needs her leadership, her guidance. This wasn't just a job, it has meaning for him. That side of him is hardly ever visible to others, his position demands it. It is good that others view him as cold and efficient, a fierce warrior. So much the better when they recognize him and hesitate.

Sighing as he walks, Rune pulls a band from his wrist and smooths his hands back over his hair, forming it into a pony tail and slipping the band over it, doubling it to make it tight. Where were they going?

The lady of the tribe left with Shady? How very gossipy. I think that I should have a looksee in her quarters and try to find something incriminating.

If I could just get the tribe to see how horrible she is, I could rule this place, instead. So very much needs to be fixed. We need more weapons, and more food, and definitely more petrol.

Stepping off of the platform, another guard takes my place. "I'll be a while, Razor." The other guard just looks at me menacingly. Stupid guard. They're all so stupid. I could be the boss and they'd all have to respect me. With that, I stomp down the corridor toward her highness's room.

Allyn Shade:

Taking Sidonie to the edge of the land tiller's earth, Allyn stopped. "There they are, my lady... Just ahead... As you wished..." Just the hint of fearful regret in his voice, as he spoke... "What will you say? I wonder..." He sighed plaintively.

When Lilly returned the child to it’s mother, she looked around the compound and the progress the small community had made. It had taken them four hard years to build a sustainable existence, where the winters were warm and no one went hungry. Lilly tried to think ahead, to anticipate as many things as possible, and of late, looking for a bigger compound was heavy on her mind. In the last three years, nine babies had been bourn, and although Lilly loved that the population was flourishing, it also meant more mouths to feed, so more food would have to be produced. If they were to farm and greater quantity of land here, or house any more livestock, they would soon be impossible to hide from the savages that roamed the City.

At random intervals, Lilly would lead raiding parties into the cities outer suburbs, going through abandon homes and stores, looking for items that would be of use to her tribe. Nothing was wasted. In storerooms hidden beneath the ground, they have a large supply of food, clothing, tools, and most importantly, weapons. Lilly would have loved to believe that her little tribe was safe here, hidden amongst the trees and tall grasses, but she would not delude herself. Sooner or later, they would be found, and she would fight with all she was worth to keep their way of life. She had sent scouts to look for another place to call home, a safe place where they could live in peace and serve Mother Earth as she served them.

She was deep in her thoughts when Scott called out from the lookout post. It was a call she had hoped would not come, not yet. They had been found, and she was not ready. How could she have been so stupid? She knew there was one who had been watching them, but for some reason she never considered him a threat. She should have killed him the instant she knew of him.

Tucking a revolver into the back of her jeans, and a knife into her boot, she lifted her head high and set forth to meet the city dwellers before they came any closer to the compound.

There were three of them, two men, the one who had been the spy, the other obviously a body guard, and a woman, undoubtedly the leader. Lilly, Scott and Jake concealed themselves in the long grass long before the trio arrived, and upon hearing the words “What will you say…I wonder” Lilly and her men rose up out of the grass and confronted the unwelcome intruders.

“You will simply say “GOODBYE” then turn around, and go right back the way you came and forget you ever saw us.” Her look assured them she was serious…..deadly serious.

"Surely you have not thought this over," Sidonie replied softly, looking to the female that had spoken. "I understand your fear of outsiders ruining all that you have worked for, and the uncertainty is just. Humans now remain ungraceful when it comes to Mother Earth; most have even forgotten that she is the reason we are all here..."

"But we have come with no intention of harming you or your people. I have came to ask an alliance with you and your tribe. The threat of the New Nation becomes greater by the day, and easily they could wipe out either of our tribes. However, if we were to team up... We might standa a fighting chance against the comformity."

Sidonie continued to watch the girl with a face showing no emotion. "If you wish to turn me down, I will leave and never return. This is your call."

Lilly listened to this woman's words, and listened hard to anything that might not have been said. Still, there was lillte room in Lilly's nature for trust, and at this point, she had no reason to trust these, or any other outsiders.

"My tribe has no need of your aliance, nor do we need to TEAM UP with city barberians. We are more then able to take care of our own. I ask you now to leave this place, and my people, and forget you ever saw us." Lilly kept her face like stone, hard and unreadable. She had much to think about, and time was growing short.

Rays of the sun glint off the worked and folded steel of a true katana blade; it is out in a flash as the three appear from the grass. Upon hearing that they mean no immediate harm, Rune takes his position respectully just behind Sidonie's left shoulder. The length of his blade is slanted away from him and the group in his left hand, his arm tense and ready to strike.

Black Tribal designs are tattooed around Rune's left eye and down along his neck. His held is held high, and light is reflected a little more off the scar running down his right cheek. Sharp turqoise eyes shift constantly between the three before him, assessing them, sizing them up and keeping careful watch on their movements.

Sidonie nodded respectfully and turned, beginning her graceful walk towards her own lands. There was much more to say to this girl, but Sidonie hated to be a bother -- the girl seemed more than sure in her response.

"It's too bad," Sidonie spoke softly to the two men once they were beyond hearing range of the tribe they had previously been conversing with.
