Today, I learned...

That the three classical genres are narrative, lyric, and drama.
That many consider Pamela by Samuel Richardson to be the first English novel.

Today I learned that Nightime couch syrups taste great, but that drinking too much of one knocks you out waaaaay past your 8 AM class.....It is now noon, and I just woke up.

I learned that Sunstruck can never get enough monkey masturbation.

Defoe was writing novels before Samuel Richardson. And Gulliver's Travels is a novel in my book--also pre-Richardson.

Don't mind me; I just feel like picking a fight

The other 20% are possibly 'random cryptic'. But who said that posters here stick to classic formats?

I learned that Cervantes was every bit as deluded as his creation, Don Quixote. Having just read his introduction to part two. The rest of the day has not be revelatory. Yesterday I learned that cinnamon is really nice on vanilla ice cream.

Today I learned that I have to get the Windows For Dummies book so I can learn.

I said I was a stay at home dad, I never claimed to be any good at it

that a toddler with an upset tummy probably does not need cream cheese on his bagel, no matter how much he begs. YUCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!

Chef, I did not begin this as a conversation thread.

Today I learned that nectar is from the Greek words nek (death, also seen in ‘necromancer’) and +tar (a passage of some sort, seen in modern English is ‘transport’).
Therefore, a nektar, would be a passage beyond death. Fitting as ambrosia, the nectar of the gods, bestowed immortality.

It's too early. I haven't learned anything yet.

I'll come back to this later.

I'll do yesterday.

Yesterday I learned that Oliver Sacks also writes about chemistry wonderfully (read "Uncle Tungsten" it's good! trust me!).

I learned that the Pablo IO task lamp is a thing of beauty.

I learned that Vancouver is fricken cold this time of year.

I learned some new technical web crap about domains and such.

I learned that long naps in the afternoon make me hyper.

Today I learned that GMC is the high end line of cars, not Chevy. I always thought it was the other way around. Go figure.

I hate to be the picky one

But you can learn another thing.

Ambrosia was the food of the gods and nectar their drink. You must have had to eat it regular 'cause Pelops' father ate some, but he died.

Today I learned my rabbit has to go back to Anne Summers ...:(...balls fall out ...:(....

Glad I could educate you.

I learned that you can get better pot in P-town than Boston

I learned that I don't know as much about computers as I thought I did

I learned that Sandia is the most absent moderator at Lit

Pamela is an epistolary novel. (an appalllingly bad one as well)
The first true novel was actually French. The Princess of Cleves.

Today and everyday I learn that my paranoia is justified.

"Lately, I'm not the only one/I say, never trust anyone"

Today I learned that SXCgirl is getting really bad car advice from somebody, as GMC is a line of trucks. Cadillac is the top of the GM heap, and heap is the correct word.

(think german)

Today I learned that people still (for reasons still unclear to me) buy cars from makers other than Toyota, BMW, or Honda.

I'll do yesterday since I just got up and haven't learned anything today.

Yesterday I learned that many classic French films have excellent premises that are ruined by long, boring, drawn-out romance scenes.

today I learned that someone has been sharing PM's that I send, with other people. :(
