The Testosterone Lounge

Should be an interesting game. There aren't many good match-ups this week. The two teams I follow closely are both in mis-matches. LSU will play the Miss St. team that lost at home to I-AA Maine last week while Louisiana Tech will serve as cannon fodder for Tennessee.

We won't be getting the SDSU/Nevada game here in Dallas, but I'll try to follow it on the net. Like you, I don't bet on games. For one thing gambling is the only vice that doesn't appeal to me and I'm so cheap, I get more involved with the point spread than the game.

Hope your Aztecs play well.

YES! Los Aztecas win 27-10! Padres still alive! Now if the Chargers could actually beat Denver....(hey, I can dream...)

Philly 7, Dee-troit 0

Lions fumble, Eagles recover. So much for the question I was going to ask before my browser loaded the page.

Are the Lions good enough to win this game at home?

Rapid fire edit to add: Phiily 14, Dee-troit 0.

Philly may have finally added the pieces to get them over the hump...

It's now 21-0 Eagles.

Congratulations to the Aztecs. They won and covered the spread. The alums will be happy.

This may be the Eagles year, but I don't believe a team with a scrambling QB has ever won the Super Bowl and Philly has a very questionable running game. Still, McNabb's good enough to be the first, especially with TO and the stricter interp. of pass interference.

I love football on TV,
That's the game for me.

I love tackles in the mud,
Swampy fields that flood,
Sloshing through O-lines,

We all love this game.

Here's to football!

Bump of shameless magnitude. Besides, I'm a Samuel Adams drinker.

As a man who drinks scotch more than any beer, and one who prefers beer that is more along the stout/nut brown lines when I do drink it, my favorite thing about american light lagers is the commercials.

and from that pov, I have some fondness for coors light...

I've always wanted to add the MP3 of it to my story of the same name...

taking one for the the team,
so his buddy can live the dream...

on another beer commercial front, I worked with a client from northern ireland recently who responded to most good news with

Brilliant!

I had to fight to not laugh every time he said it....especially since I do like and drink Guinness.

Baseball

Only got to watch the Yankees game (and I love watching the Yankees lose), but anyone got any predictions about the playoffs?

Myself, I'm rooting for the Astros, just because of ther Mariner-esque finish to the season, and because I like ol' Roger's "fuck you" to Big George when he unretired.

I'm predicting the Astros over the no-luck Sox in six.

But who knows, this might be Boston's year. Makes for a compelling argument.

As an M's fan, I'm completely disgusted. They fired our yes-man manager, and who's on the list of replacements?

Jimy Williams
Grady Little

Fuck you Boston. Not only do you take Lowe and Varitek for Heathcliff Slocumb, now we have to deal with your rejects.

I hope they hire Valentine, but ownership doesn't want a headstrong manager ... look at Pinella ...

OK, let's talk a little baseball.

I'd love to see a 'Stros-Sox series. Houston has never won and Boston might as well never have...

Just please, God, PLEASE, don't let it be Yankees-Dodgers...

Actually, I am rooting for the Angels. But I would enjoy Astros-Red Sox.

I am just hoping the front office for the Padres does not cave to radio call-in idiots and trade Phil Nevin. We are this close! Get a number five starter, a couple of bullpen guys and Steve Finley until Guzman is ready and the season could be even more fun next year.

oh, and Mr. Towers...

GET OFF YOUR ASS AND RE-SIGN DAVID WELLS! NOW!

Sweetie, I am and always will be your friend. But as a fan of a team that has always had to struggle with payroll issues as well as one that was swept by your team in the 98 World Series, I have all but no choice but to hate the Yankees...

...although I admit to still admiring Thurmon Munson and Donnie Ballgame. And even Jeter and Bernie Williams. BUT STEINBRENNER IS THE ANTI-CHRIST!!!!!

Don't even go there with the payroll issue, Bels....When the Yankees are at any stadium there are SOLD OUT crowds.....where does that money go? And I thought I heard something about the Yanks subsidizing teams with that TAX they have to pay out....where does that money go???

Steinbrenner is a businessman...and a good one at that -- he pays for the best....not saying that each player lives up to that, but they are only human, afterall..and they are CUTE....

Don't forget Bucky Dent.......

DON'T BE MAD AT ME --- here is a pic to make nice......

Steinbrenner may be a good businessman, but he has a competitive advantage based solely on the location of his business...he CHOOSES to pay the "luxury tax". Any team with those lineups and that history would create sellouts...

mind you, I am not a supporter of a salary cap...look at football and all the players forced off teams they want to end their career with...

nice pic though...care to discuss this thing for Bucky a little more?

or should I try to piss you off in hopes of getting more "apology" pics...I do have a duty to the other guys...

The location of his business??? You do know, although we all tend to forget, there is another baseball team in NY -- My Entire Team Stinks.....I think you get my meaning...ANYWAY...the reason why there are sellouts is because they are an incredible, winning team...Everyone wants to be a YANKEE....

I just think it's sad that at 34 you are considered too old to play a sport...screw the salary cap.

Thank you for the comment about my pic....and as for Bucky....*SIGH*

an apology pic....is that a way of saying I have SORRY ass?????

ah, but the Mets have simply made worse personnel decisions...their location allows them to still play free agency every year despite that...the Yankees are better managed, but that does not negate their advantage

other teams must wait and build up a chance to play the free agent game...

the only thing sorry about that ass is that I have not had a chance for a closer look...and feel...
