The men deserve equal time don't they?....this should be a piece of cake.

10. TOLYK

Gone for the moment, Dean will hopefully be back. What a gentle soul, even if his 10 inch dick is a fake!

9 EVIL ALPACA

I love Lost in Texas and other stories. A true storyteller, and one of the best we have here!

8. DR. MABEUSE

keeps us all hopping with his penetrating wit and blunt manner. Oh yes, and his stories rock too......

7. OGGBASHAN

So intelligent, prolific, and a great writer. ALMOST as self deprecating as Abs, apparently he took lessons from her at one point!

6. RUMPLE FORESKIN

Our spiritual leader, Daddy, Mohammed, you name it. Extremely witty, a tough voter...but if he gives you a "5", get out there and publish!!

5. BLACK SHANGLAN

Incredibly fair, ridiculously modest, and a quiet genius!

4. DRANOEL

His Halloween Contest entry last year is one of my favorite stories...it deserved to win. No one writes with this degree of intensity and love!

3. AWFUL ARTHUR

WOW! His stories are so incredibly personal, and very moving. A genuinely nice person, and very important to me.

2. THE EARL

God, I love his stuff! What a truly great guy in every way....now, if only he was bisexual!!

1. CARSONSHEPHERD

Carson is my writing soul- mate, and it was through his influence that I got away from writing mere "stroke" stories. Thanks Carson, I owe you much more than I can say.

And for the people that weren't included....nothing personal, I may not know you as well and there are only 10 slots!

THANK YOU all for making AH the best "discussion room" at Lit.

Sack, I know you mean no harm but Zoot was right. This isn't high school, and one of the nice things about that is that we can approach each other as equals and not as Jocks and Cheerleaders at the top of the heap and pitiful losers like Bill Gates on the bottom.

I can' t help it.....

Monday is my self-destruct day!

Picked on a lot back then, weren't you. Why not end the cycle instead of trying to reverse it? I'll call the custodian and we'll get you out of that locker before the bell rings, I promise.

Yeah, take it from one of the guys who has never made one of these f-ing lists, these popularity contest threads really suck. :(

to be more serious....

I do think it is perfectly Ok for me, or anyone to recognize important people/writers in the AH. Obviously, it is from that particular persons' point of view, and should be taken in that context. I can't possibly know everyone in the AH on an equal basis. This is just life, some people make more of an impression on you than others.....

Let's put the lad's head in the toilet and see if he finds anyone important down there. You with me?

Point taken. How long ago did you get here?

How long ago did you get here?

Do you mean "how long have you been at the AH?" Well, I've been at Lit. for almost 1 and one half years, and have about 240 on and off posts. So, what's your point?

Yes, it is OK for you to personally feel closer to some people in the AH than others. I have people I care about more than others too. But I don't go posting assanine, Junior High, "These people are my friends so they are cool" threads like this.

THe only purpose this kind of thing serves is to make a very few people feel cool and special. But it does so at the expense of everyone else.

OK, I'm done with this teenage bullshit thread.

don't buy it, cheerful....

(by the way, you're not being very cheerful today!) You are basically saying that recognizing someone for a certain quality, ability, etc., automatically debases or takes away from others not so recognized. WRONG!! Think about High School for a moment, since that seems to be a popular analogy today. Did being the Valevictorian automatically imply that the rest of the class was retarded? Did being the star football quarterback suggest that the rest of the men were uncoordinated? Of course not, and you can use some good analogies at Lit. as well. Does winning a monthly contest imply that other stories are not worthy? Again, absolutely not. It seems like someone's insecurity may be showing.....and by the way, you called it a popularity contest, I didn't. I think there are people in the AH who have made a positive difference in my life, no matter how small, and they SHOULD be recognized in public. Rather than think good/not good think exceptional/unknown. For example, I don't know you at all, so how could I, in good conscience include you on this list? That is what I meant before when I said "you can't know everyone."

Now, will someone please tell me why everyones' sense of humor goes down the tubes when I try to be funny?

Your comparison to valivictorian and star quarterback dont work. Why? Because they are both based on quantifiable achievements. THe Val has the highest GPA, it was earned. The stare quarterback has thrown the most TD's, he earned it.

Your list is more accuratly compared to Prom King & Queen, which is a popularity contest.

The same goes for winning a contest on Lit. It is earned by getting the highest votes. Not becaues someone arbitrarily said, "I like him best."

Maybe the reason it seems like your own little personal popularity contest has something to do with the title, hmmm? "10 Most beautiful Men in the AH". That immediatly infers that anyone not on the list is of lesser standing.

Well, I'm sorry if I don't seem to freakin cheerful, but I spent 18 years being left off the "cool" lists in school so you'll have to forgive me if I don't find this shit funny.

in response to CD.....

If I really wanted to, I could probably quantify my ratings....and that those 10 people really do contribute quite a bit to AH, and have written stories that are contest winners, or highly rated. The contests could also be viewed as a popularity contest, by the way, and have by some. But, my main point is, everyones' list of ten would be slightly different, since we all have had different experiences in the AH. It doesn't mean anything negative to not be on the list. The Ten Most Beautiful Men was a takeoff on The Ten Most Beautiful Women, obviously. Go to bed, and stop taking everything so seriously. I, for one was trying to have a little fun...

I come to this board quite often and usually have quite a bit of fun here. I don't usually get pissed off about much but this just struck a nerve.

I know your main point was 'everyone list would be different'. But nowhere in the title or in that original post did it say "Sack's favorite people (men, women, whatever)". It just says here's the best guys here.

Next you say: "It doesn't mean anything negative to not be on the list." I say it does. Suppose that there was someone here who really thought a lot of you and thought you were friends. Then you post your list and ther're not on it. Don't you suppose that would hurt? Don't you suppose that in that person't eyes that was something negative not to be on that list?

Same thing as the Most Beautiful Women thread. The few who was mentioned said:  The majority who were not said: :(

Made a few happy at the cost of most feeling excluded.

about titles....

But Cheerful, I started the thread, so of course it's Sack's most....(whatever). I included people I PM privately and know reasonably well, there shouldn't be any shockers here. I agree that if I really thought highly of someone and didn't include them in the list, that would be a negative thing, but I didn't do that. EVERYONE I mentioned is important to me, going back from 10 to 1 was just a fun thing to do. Since I don't know you or your stories at all, I didn't include you on my list, that's really it. No need to make a big deal out of this, and of course you are welcome to mention people that are special to you on your own thread....and I don't expect to be on that list. That's perfectly OK with me, I expect different individuals will have their own unique lists of people to admire....and that's the way it should be!

It may have been fun for you, sack, but apparently it wasn't fun for anyone else, that's his point.

And, no, it's not sour grapes speaking, cause it doesn't matter whether I was on any list or not. I matter to the one that matters to me, and that's what's important.

I wasn't on the list (and hell, I'm a pretty man), but I don't have a problem with it. I think we're gettin' buggy about the idea of excluding people from what could be warm and welcoming--but, let's be honest... we do it all the time.

This ain't the first "here are special people" thread. Just maybe the first that talks about beautiful.

And I know what you look like. ;)

You'd make my list any day, Neon, along with Lew, Gauche, DomJoe, CD, and many others. I'm not gonna list anymore, because I don't want to hurt anyone by not including them. ;)

Damn lists. Always cause trouble. Even when you are number one in one of them. I'm waiting to get stabbed.

I'm loathe to get involved in threads like this but feel I have to give my view, as harsh as it may be.

I am not a frequent poster and have occasional contact with a couple of authors here, but I'm inclined to agree with the sentiments expressed by most of the others regarding their dislike of listing 'favorite A/H posters' in public or singling out a select few for adoration and acclaim.

For me it's not a matter at all of being included or excluded from any such lists. That type of thing has never been of any importance to me. My self esteem and sense of self worth comes from my own inner personal security and not from what people think or don't think of me. What I can't stand about this type of thread is that it comes across as blatant sucking up, perhaps in some way to enhance one's own popularity or build a group of 'indebted' friends and I simply don't understand why adults would need to do that.

I'm sorry if this sounds blunt Sack. I honestly have nothing personal against you at all. You've been complimentary about my writing, leaving public comments etc, but I'm giving my own personal view and sucking up, ( sexual innuendos aside please) no matter who is doing it, turns me off completely.

Green_Gem

point taken, Green Gem......

But I don't see it as blatant sucking up because I already know these people to a degree and have nothing to prove to them. I'm trying to let others know of their achievements/stories...not everyone can read every story after all. If I picked names at random from the AH just to make a list and get attention, I could buy that as "sucking up". But that's not what actually happened here. In a similar manner, I recently posted a review/story titled The Ten Best Stories on Literotica. Some people mentioned therein I know very well, others I don't know at all. But the point was to highlight ten wonderful stories people may have missed...and from the feedback, many frequent readers did indeed miss them. I always find it rather amazing that people ALWAYS interpret compliments as mere "kiss ass." Have we all become that jaded that it's impossible to give credit where credit is due anymore?
