The Temple of Light

As we walked, I slipped a hand around Madeline's... well, I should say Sapphire's... slender hips. I realized that her induction into the temple had been more swift than is usual, and I apologized if she felt rushed, but I again assured her that I believed she would like it here, and could stay as long as she wished. As we reached her door, I stopped.

"Sapphire, I'm so glad I found you," I whispered, taking her hands in mine, and kissing her sweet lips. My kiss lingered, and my hands wrapped loosely around Sapphire's waist.

Canary led me into the quarters of the Blues. I noticed that the corridor was painted, appropriately, blue. We stopped in front of one door that was the colour of the sky.

Canary put his hands on my waist, encouraging me about the Temple. I was still a little bit off balance by how quickly things were moving and I wasn't entirely comfortable being called Sapphire.

After a moment, I stepped back, taking a breath and opening the door to my apartment, looking inside.

I was disappointed when Sapphire drew away from me and stepped into her room. I suppose I expected the same response that I got last night, but the tea had long since warn off, and she was much cooler towards me now. I hadn't lost any interest in her, however, and as she entered the room, I peeked my head in. "You like it?" I asked.

As I looked around the room, I had to admit it wasn't bad. A simple sort of bedroom, with a small desk and chair and a rather comfortable looking bed. Decorated mostly in blues, of course.

"It's... nice," I admitted to Canary. Although I'd slept with him last night, that wasn't really normal behaviour for me; I didn't really want him thinking it was, nice guy though he seemed.

"Soooo...." I said, drawing the word out slightly. "What else do you do around here?" I inquired.

I had to think for a minute- although I had been firmly trained in 'what we did', explaining it in such a way was new to me. Usually, I just did it.

"Well," I began, "We meditate on our religion, talk about it, and enjoy the way it makes us feel. But really, our religion isn't the only thing we concentrate on. It's important, The Light says, to concentrate on caring for each other as well. That's why I brought you here. I want to help care for you." I sat beside Madeline, lightly touching the soft sheets which hung on her bed.

Scarlett Reed

OC: Scarlett Reed, 5'5', Red hair, Green eyes, 26 years old, Hi IQ, Former Executive.

Scarlet was a red in the Temple of light, she had beed brought in by canary who initiated her in the art of sexuality. She was a good actress as she acted as if she liked it but didnt. Canary worked with her a month as he felt she was not truely into what they were doing. The reds wanted Scarlett badly as the knew she would be a good Admin so the pressured Canary into letting her continue her upward spiral till she got to them. She is an unstanding Admin but the Light noticed she was lacking the socialbility that Canary was responsible for teaching her. He summoned Canary and asked what happened there and Canary admitted he didnt think she should have left him. The Light ordered that Canary re-educate her as long as was necessary, either he found someone to do it or do it himself.

IC: Scarlett sat at her desk working late into the night. She liked it like this, that way there was less time for socializing which she knew meant screwing around. She had been a virgin when Canary had recruited her. He had taken her virtue and tried to teach her the art of socialization. She remembers those days with horror and is happy that she is now a red and above such things.

Scarlett did not like the tight fitting dresses that were the order of the day at the temple so she purposely lost weight so that the dress hung loosely on her. She thought this would keep the socialization down but actually her long hours kept the males away.

She was about to go back to her chamber when a load knock sounded at the door. She looked at it.

"Come in"

Suddenly, in the midst of my garbled explanation, I remembered The Light Reader. How could I forget? I retrieved Sapphire's copy from her drawer, and brought it back to the bed. I opened it, and touched its pages lightly, explaining that this was our manual, our guide to the proper way of life. It was the written, enlightened word of every Light there ever was. If she would like, I said, perhaps we could explore it together this afternoon, over a cup of Blueberry tea.

Sapphire tried to suppress a small chuckle as Canary earnestly drew out the small book he called the Light Reader. If all the people did in the Temple was read and meditate, it would be a rather quiet place, she thought to herself.

"Yes, I suppose we could meet this afternoon to discuss the book," Sapphire allowed. "But I haven't read it yet, so I wouldn't have anything to discuss..."

"Take your time, we'll talk when you're ready" I smiled, pressing the book lightly into her hands, then kissing her cheek. I crossed the room to the door. "I think you'll like what you find." I smiled at her again as I closed the door behind me. I hoped she truly would find some value in the book, and would stay and learn from us.

I left without having satisfied my urges for Sapphire, and so I went down to the living room in search of another within the acceptable colors who could satiate my desires.
