by Stephan King & Peter Straub. I don't know how this book slipped through my "King" collection but it did. I don't remember having ever read it and next month they are coming out with the sequel to it.

I'm currently on pg. 300 and love little Jack Sawyer. :) This book reminds me a lot of the "Dark Tower" series.

edit: was Straub not Bachmann

Hell of a book.....It seems like most of King's books are jpoined together. There is an all encompassing story within these books...I hope he lives long enough to tell it

The whole thing hints at a whole world he created. The last author to succesfully pull this off for me was Robert A. Heinlein and his Future History stories. Amazing reading.

A sequel? Boy oh boy!

An excellent book. I loved it, and I'm not really into Stephen King, or books of that genre. I was in a situation where I had to have something to read, and it was The Talisman or nothing. And I just couldn't put it down.

I'll be looking for the sequel.

Stephen King is three writers in one....an excellent psychological writer(Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption), an excellent horror and supernatural writer(Green Mile, Stand, Dark Tower), both kinds will stand up to literature from any era...and then the writer for fun and profit which, unfortunately, most people who dislike him judge him by.

It's great having a writer who is Poe, Hitchcock, Melville and a little something extra rolled into one genius

As with E. Poe, S. King scares the hell outta me!

The first thing I ever read of his, as a kid, was Kujo. wOw, I had nightmares for weeks. Thru the years, as I matured yeah right!, I ventured into more of his books and movies. Always the results!! nightmares, nightmares, nightmares!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love the man! He's an absolute genius!

A good read.

King is overall a great writer who has some interesting ideas in his head. Just about everything I've read of his has been a joy for the most part. Not to mention he's one of the few (and I mean FEW) authors around that will catch my interest when a new title of his is released.

A sequel to The Talisman?

*Wanders off Zombielike to see if she can pre-order it*

Angel

The name of the sequel is Black House out September 2001 in hardcover.

I havn't even read The Talisman,(all the way through, that it.)*Hangs head in shame*I remember being home alone right after I finished "Pet SEmetary." NOT a good idea. I also remember for a few days not wanting to turn my back in the shower, because I was convinced a dead woman would rise up and grab me. OK, so I'm 22 and still can act like a child, shoot me. Far and away his greatest achievements are "The Stand," and "The Dark Tower" series. I got SO nervous when he had the accident. I was like, "NO!!!!!! You have to finish the damn series."

Try Clive Barker's Weaveworld. :)

It should remind you of Dark Tower

Randall Flagg is The Walking Dude (see The Stand). Remember, King has had The Dark Tower rattling around in his head for more than 30 years. He once said that it was the only story he thought he'd never live to finish; at the time The Dark Tower was published, he had 3,000 pages of NOTES!

If you haven't read it, you should also pick up Eyes of A Dragon by Stephen King...it is directly linked to The Talisman and is a great read.

I loved Eyes of the Dragon. It was such a departure for King. Why can't I remeber The Talisman?

If you haven't read it, you really should. Actually, it makes Eyes of a Dragon a lot clearer.
